I'm not a huge fan of milsim, but sometimes "cool" outweighs "practical".

There was a Muzzelite kit really cheap at the gun show this Sunday, and I bought it.

It's supposed to go around a Marlin .22 rifle. You remove the stock and foregrip from the Marlin, and put them in the kit. The kit's trigger has an arm that reaches back to work the Marlin's trigger.

The plan was to put the guts from my old Rainmaker inside, but the RM's vertical feed would put the hopper right in my face.

So I've been looking around at all the other guns in my collection, and there are couple of markers that might fit. My old Stingray II is close, but I'd have to con AKA out of his Stingray-to-Spyder barrel adapter. :) My old Mokal Mirage would be easy, but the only barrels I have are too short!

The best bet will probably be an Ion, Vibe or SP1. Those are small enough that I might be able to use the back of the stock as a hopper.

Anybody want to sell a Vibe cheap? :character00118:

This guy stuffed an A-5 into one (http://undergroundmodshop.com/forums/vBulletin/showthread.php?t=2350&highlight=muzzelite). Too bad I don't have an A-5 either!

Well I have the Ion I just picked up from Evolkers... has a 14inch stiffi with it too, I've got a friend who may be taking it. If he doesn't though this may be a worthy project for it...

No promises though

ion would be the easiest to mod for it,i've been looking at that gun kit for a few months to mod a marker in it just never got around to buying it... good luck i'd love to see the finished project.

that a5 in that link just doesn't look right. I think that anything would look goofy in that.

Part of my attraction to these Muzzelite kits is their kinda-sorta resemblance to the M41a Pulse Rifle (http://www.hollywood-collectibles.com/aliens.html?xid=71703c0550c68b52924ed34d566afd56) from the movie Aliens. The props in the movie were just Thompson SMGs bolted to shotguns in a plastic shell, but they've always seemed cool to me.

I've got a line on a longer barrel for my old Mirage. If it works, it will require so little modification that I could put something different in it later... like the guts from my TM-7.

I think the a5 modded looks really good, I don't see any parts that take away from the look, other than the cyclone feed. I'm sure the guns you are listing are small enough. You'll just have to figure out how setup that whole trigger deal. I bet everyone who has ever made a p90 mod and even the guy who made that mod above me knows how to do it, at least rudimentry.

sorry for the double post. I found 2 vibes for sale, both reasonably priced. New ones go for only about $30-50 more.

Thanks for finding that. With my wife still out of work, I'm reluctant to spend money on yet another paintball gun. I have actually lost count of the ones I have. Maybe he'd be interested in a trade.

Protos, like SLGs and Rails? SLG guts in this thing might be a lot of fun. Hmm...
