View Full Version : Splat Tag 2009 Build Up Again!
Splat Tag build up again in 2009.
Urban field.
2009 we will be adding a lot more structures and adding two new starting bases so it can be played E to W and N to S or from all four bases. :eek:
New Courses.
Yes Splat Tag will be adding new courses again this year.
One will be a Alamo and the other is still being planned. :rolleyes:
Tower Course.
The tower course will see the new two story octagon finished in the center and then we will start replacing all structures and walls around it. Lights will be improved as well.
Misc Structures and Forts will be added throughout all of the courses this season. Two of the new Forts will be bigger then again out there now. :eek:
Over 1000 new sandbags to be added by GBG XVI in June.
Splat Tag is setting up a few new things to help players save money and stay up-to-date on events at Splat Tag.
1) A Splat Tag email list is already started, people can sign up on the Splat Tag web site www.splattag.com (http://www.splattag.com). People can easily oped out at anytime. Emails will be sent with special and upcoming event info.
2) A Frequent players program will offer players great deals on Open Games, Jungle Rumbles, Giant Big Games and even paintballs.
3) The Events board in the staging area will be Updated weekly and a second board will be added to the right of the prize stage by check-in.
4) Most of the 2009 schedule was posted eary to help players make plans. (Nov. 2008.)
Patches should be back in time for the first Jungle Rumble on March 29.
More videos and pictures. Splat Tag will be hiring people to just take pictures and videos at all Big Games March 29-Oct. photo:)
Lights will be added in the staging area and down the main paths to Tower and Top Of The Hill.
More power Generators will be added for field lighting.
Update will be posted as work begins.

I might have a friend who is interested in taking video if your hiring people. He is planning on going to college for film stuff and he has a VERY nice camera and editing equipment. He used to play paintball a couple years ago, but he has lost interest.
So are you looking for people to hire or do you already have them lined up?

Whoo hoo! too bad urban is under 2 ft of ice (it looks like a frozen pond). So will it have bunkers on the corners and more dirt berms the duck into?

SOUNDS GREAT!!! are you gonna have a build day again this year??? if so please post when you do, I think I could find some people who would be more then willing to help you out.
also if you could use any plastic pallets or 55gal barrels let me know! I've got a ton, I'll just need to scrounge up a trailer to haul them on.

We are planning to make the New Alamo fort bigger then the warfare base on maze.
Still waiting for the ground to dry out more before we begin.

As a side note I've found the height level, bird's eye, and 3D terrain height maps of the Splattag area, cool stuff.

They're on different maps sites and I just took screenshots, i'll post'em, but they're on my computer at work, doh!
Still scouting locations. I would like it to be a new field or at least make a field playable from a new angel/direction. I will know soon.

Can't wait! Any idea how big the Alamo will be and when it will be up and running? I assume it will be included in GBG 09

Thanks, I had to dig around to find these, the old height map is from the 70's, the other ones are more current. Though about doing more detailed maps of each field somehow from memory, eh...we'll see.
We are just starting planning and working on a totally new 2 Story Fort on a totally new playing area. Well at the Main GBG Alliance Base that is almost never used.
This will be another BIG one. No, not like the Tower. More like the Fort on Maze.

Work has started on the latest surprise for the 2009 GBG.
Pillboxes with Turrets sniper:) Still working out where these will be placed at GBG and it they will be open for public use. After GBG they will be moved to the DDAY Course.

I was just talkin to my friend about how the other main base is fairly small. not any more i guess.
After GBG we be closing Urban while we add twice as many Structures and reset the polls and put up a new netting system.
Special note!
Money raised from each June's GBG has help Splat Tag found 90% of all major improvements. The more players that come out the more we can do.
Also had to build a Blackhawk on Urban. :eek: We will see how things go.
Help get more players out to the GBG!
Well looky there, Pill Boxes with Turrets. I am amazed for sure. What are you doing? Holding Pow-Wow's and dreaming up cool ways to shoot up alot of players?sniper:) Well whatever your doing to get creative, so far it's working!:cool:
The Frame work on the Turrets looks Familiar,tank2:) nice job by the way, they are going to be Fun./AKA

Black cannons do not move or work, just for looks. Players use their own guns out of the a hole in the lower screen to be added yet.

The three guns are just for looks. Player inside use their own gun through the netting under main tube.
They have now been moved to the Splat Tag DDAY Course.
These can only be taken out by a nerf rocket or by a player running up and tagging it!

Update on the MAZE Course Warfare Fort "Alamo" for the July 26 Jungle Rumble.
New 8' back wall now almost closes in whole Fort. Cross shooting holes. :eek:

This Fort has sucked up $400 (20 gallons) of paint! :eek:
Looking for any volunteer help to pick up bark and sticks around the base of the fort. help:)

Looks amazing. Can't wait for this game. I love alamo style gameplay. Those crucifix murder holes are just asking for a new paint job though ha.
It's Great to see that, that base finally got some attention and mods. I've always enjoyed the Battles in the Maze area, with all the trenches and heavy cover. And now the Base is something to behold and Held.:) Nice job Darrin and Crew. I too can't wait for the Alamo!/AKA

Still working on that. Playing it + all four ways.
Saturday Urban was played a lot and it's played different now. Main center building is not as big of a deal get to. More laning from the back buildings. I lot eazy to move around and bigger players :).
I love the new netting sytem, copyed from Action Packed Paintball in Jordan, MN. Thanks Jim!
Will be playing it a lot again today. dribble:)

Played the new urban today. Really fun, you can do a lot more damage from the snake, and now the truck isn't just a crazy run. There's actually bunkers around it.

Ahhh I heard the beast was running again.
You could also put up on here that you got the tank going again.
I have missed that thing so much. Its so depressing to have a really good push going and then have it just be completely stopped by the tank. Having to run away and find another alternate route to go through.
Haha makes games so much more interesting!
