Where is a good local place to get your HPA tanks hydro tested? I don't want to have issues at the giant game again. What are the costs and how long does it take?

All Fire Test, Inc. is local (http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&safe=off&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=all+fire+in+st.+paul,+mn&fb=1&split=1&gl=us&view=text&latlng=17223889521456710376). If you consider St. Paul local. :)
I need to do that this year as well.

They did! D'oh.
I called them, and found their actual website:
http://www.all-safe.net/
They have a Downtown Minneapolis location, and one in Wyoming, MN.
Forgot to ask about pricing... http://home.comcast.net/%7Emondomor/emot-bang.gif

Most paintball shops will do it as well. I know SCP in hudson sends tanks off to hydro. I believe CC military surplus does as well. I am not sure of costs however.

I would stay away from All Fire - they don't have the right tools for paintball tanks and really butchered mine last time

I have a place in Wisconsin that does it for me runs $30 with shipping it to them. I have never had a issue with them yet.

Look in the yellow pages for scuba places, and sorry but thats a big item, it will prolly take 2-4 weeks to do it any where unless you find it local and even then its iffy.
HPA can be filled in many places. SCP in hudon does it, CC military should do it, some scuba shops can fill the tanks to 3k. Most fields do it on the weekends (Combat, Frederic, Splat tag, etc) Where are you paying $5 for a fill? seems a tad high but not like crazy.

it was $5 at the scuba store, which is ridiculous, but most fields are 45+ minutes away from me so it was worth it at the time cuz i hadn't gotten out at all this year before that, but its 9 for the whole tank, so thats a good deal....
i sent my tank off to cross fire to get some repairs to it. in the process of fixing the tank they broke it... they immediatly called me and were so appologetic i wasnt even mad. they told me that for the 25 i paid for the hydro and repairs would just go towards a bran new 45/45. they sold me a 45/45 for that 25 bucks and sent it 2 day air mail to me for the inconvience.. nice guys.. not tryin to make u scared of them.. i wouldnt be... they break it they buy it..:D

There is a Scuba shop in Brainerd that does Hydro testing at the store. They can usually have it done that day. I know the St. Cloud scuba store sends their tanks up to brainerd.

Someone mentioned to me that Northside Sports does hydrotesting for $30 (obviously, they send it out). That's simpler than boxing it up myself to send out, and it's not a long drive from my house, so I dropped it off today.
It's supposed to be back in 7-10 days. *crosses fingers*
If anything goes wrong, I'll have to rely on my 72/3000 steelie, which weighs about three times as much.

I got my tank back today (it took about two weeks). Northside uses All Safe, Inc. to do the hydro testing.
All Safe gouged up my reg a bit, and there's a few more minor nicks and scratches in the outer layer of the tank.
On the plus side, they didn't over-torque the reg (or use Loc Tite) when they put it on, so it was easy to remove with some strap wrenches and sweat.
Now my freshly-hydrotested tank has a shiny new Ninja regulator on it. :D
