Thanks for all the great feedback "For and Against"

I have reconsidered! The Rate of fire limit at Splat Tag for 2009 will be 12BPS.

We will see how this goes for now.

2009 ROF at Splat Tag will be 12 BPS.

The ROF Rule applys to ALL EVENTS held at Splat Tag.

Splat Tag will be lowering our rules for gun maximum rate of fire for all electronic guns.

All electronic guns must be set for Semi-auto only and a max rate of fire 12bps or under.

The last Sunday of the month Splat Tag will have Full-auto game (Jungle Rumbles) with a max rate of fire of 12bps.

The Splat Tag Crono limits will stay the same.
300fps for all Open Games
280fps for Jungle Rumbles and GIANT GAMES.
Pump guns crono limit is 300fps for Jungle Rumble, Giant Games and Open Games.

Glad to hear it, I get my Ego 08 this week, so I could've worked with the 10 bps. But, I think this 12 will be better for everyone (so most everyone can get by without buying a new board). I like the move!

I guess I'll have to adjust my resonse trigger on my M82A1 to comply with this new rule. LOL . good thing there there isn't a weight restriction. 15 lbs weight limit on gun. lol .I actually made my M82a1 simi auto this year. I took the response trigger off just to be able to enjoy the game longer. (spent alot of time convincing Ref's it wasn't fully auto.) LOL

Grateful for this.

None of my e-markers has a bps cap in semi mode.

The Autococker T-boards were cheap at $10 apiece and could be capped at 10bps, but in eyes-off mode they were fixed at 12bps.

For the rest, I'll have some trigger adjustments to do to keep them slow.

I guess I could set them to ramping capped at 12bps, but change the minimum trigger speed to 10 or 11 bps so that they really aren't ramping much at all.

Best idea EVER*! Its like gas prices. Now that we're back to $2 a gallon we're happy even though a few years ago we were pissed at that price.

(if ever means the last couple months.)*

Nate you do not have to reprogram if your gun is set for 10bps. :)

12 is the max!

Darren, can any of your ref's count to 12 let alone in a second? Doh! Seriously though, how do you enforce this rule?

I'd start enforcing by using common sense -- you can hear 12 shots a second when you've played enough paintball and you can hear 15-20 shots a second.

It may not be perfect (ie someone shooting 12.5 bps) but it'll be close enough for the intended purpose.

This isn't tournament paintball. We're not looking to make rules for the sake of having rules and knowing players will be looking at the text (as opposed to the intent) looking for loopholes.

This is paintball for fun - we're all just there to have a good time. The rule is to help the new players and keep the game more fun for everyone - a lower ROF limit keeps people from being lit up too much (which nobody likes, except for Brando :scared0012: ) and serves to help keep paintball in the "we're here to have fun" instead of the competitive atmosphere.

At least, that's how I look at it - but that's me, just another rec player who loves the game enough to wind up having a scenario team.

It is tough to tell the RAF by sound for many ref but we only need to catch someone once.

We do have 4 ROF cronos.

Any sponsored team member catch could lose the sponsorship for the whole team.

Any player catch can get a ban anywhere from 30 days to 6 months.

And yes over the years I have ban a number of players for going over the max ROF.

Yes I do think there will be a number of people that try and push the rule.
But I will add for those that do not know me, I have taken guns right of of players hands and not returned them until they are in their car leaving with no refund.

Cronoing and setting ROF is 100% the responsibility of the player!!!

There will always be players that do not have the skills to play with out cheating. recon:)

The effort is appreciated. I was of course just taking an opportunity to hack on the reffs too. :) See you next Sunday, the pumps are fully functional.

for all you Mini owners, if you get the new 1.3 board it WILL cap the fire rate in all modes. The 1.1 and 1.2 boards do not. I got mine from Boss paintball and it was only around $40 shipped.

Boss's site is really odd to navigate. Here's the mini parts, the board is #8:

Have him pick up a new poppet (#33) and spare face seal (#80, right above #33) :)

Cheap insurance in case he has trouble with the older face seals.

Will that fit the TM-7 also? That would be great for you mondo, but I doubt it.

The poppet does (already installed, based on your recommendation :)), but not the board. If I didn't mind losing the selector switch, it could be modified to work, but I'll just wing it with the single trigger and slow loader.

there is a very good chance that it will not cap in the semi auto mode, but I'm not positive either way.

Weird... Tadao doesn't have the Mini manual on their site. Found it on PbNation, though (http://www.pbnation.com/out.php?l=http://rapidshare.com/files/91239903/Tadao_M7_Invert_Manual_v1.doc.html).

It caps in semi, but it looks like the lowest cap it has is 14bps.

If you contact Tadao, I'll bet money they have a new version of the firmware they can flash your board to.
