This year Military games will be a bit different as we will be staged at the same area we use for Omaha Beach. We are looking at having a NEW POW Camp built as the old one got destroyed during a storm last year. The night mission will be a POW rescue mission at night, just a different location and a different set up. Also most of the objectives will be closer for the most part just in case it is mudy. Did not have problems the last four years except for the last one, but I am more prepared so that you guys are able to get out there and get good playing time with out the issues I run into on my side slowing down your play time. Also, hoping to build another new fort and maybe add on the the other one but that depends on the weather. And wether how frozen the ground is leading up to the event.

Yea The convoy is the one I get excited about the most. I am hopping I get to play some with the pow rescue mission though as well I think that one will be a lot of fun I wish I would have played that one last year. I did for a little bit all I carried was a spot light and a smoke. Some how I surrendered some one. LOL I got lucky on that one and played it about as smart as I could have and it just ended in my favor. It was intense being on the other side of the bunker of some one with some heavy fire power with him already knowing I was comming up on him. He had shot at me as I was drawing in on him. i threw some smoke and it threw him off I used it as a screen to sneek right up on the bunker he was in. Then I figured out what side of the bunker he was looking out by the noise he was making came up the other side of the bunker sort of having his back and asked him to surrender. He did not knowing all I had was a spot light. Whew... recon:)

But I would like to actualy have a gun with me this time. Last time I didnt because I was just planning on driving the truck. Then I got excited to do some thing just sitting there waiting drool:) so I grabbed the spot light and a smoke and went to help them out.

I dunno if I can make the event, but... If you want I'm willing to offer my services in helping you to build a fort. I've helped build more then a fair share of bunkers in my days, dunk a few trenches and built 3 different forts. Also, with my buddies Airsoft course I helped him construct a building to run CQB scenarios in.

If you've got a plan and some materials, I'll give ya some free manpower (time allowing).

Edit: Just double checked the events date, I for sure can't make the event as its my drill weekend for the guard. Offer to help build on my off weekends still stands for ya though.

Goblin. yea most of the paintballers dont truly know what you mean by the fire extinguishers mean. LOL I guess we can look back at it now and LOL I know I do but am glad we were able to put that fire out. Whew all I got to say is that night it was like a real war zone fires and all. I got a bunch of extinguishers to help with fires so things dont get to the point they did that time. Some one needs to talk to the vidio guy on that one we had two really awesome things to catch on tape he was in a good spot for both of them but nothing on tape. LOL

Is this game expected to max out at the 300 player limit? If not, how many people attended last year.

combatpaintball
01-15-2009, 07:03 PM
Expected to max out I always expect it to max out. I put on an event that if the word gets around it will max out. Will it this year? next year? Dont know but it will and I expect it to. I have had about 90 players out on average a year for this event. So I hope that answers your question to satisfaction. Last year it was a mess probably the worst mud and rain I have had to deal with since I opened. So turn out as well as the quality of the event was not what it had been in previous years. Not something I am expecting to have to deal with this year but I learned and have several back up plans in order to deal with mud and rain to the extent we had to still make it one of the best events around.

Even though it's not one of the most mainstream events.. it's an insane amount of fun! Trust me. Last year was my first year, and even though it was the 'worst' of all the years.. [ because of the weather ] it was still insane! The scenarios were a blast!... even considering the mud and rain. I highly recommend this event.

evolkers2003
01-17-2009, 03:51 AM
it should be even better with the new additions and changes! This event has been fairly small yet this is an event that people repeatedly say they have a blast at. Get as many people as you can to come so we can bring this great game into a truly insane 2 days of paintball!

I guess I will start a post on most memorable moment at military Games. This would come from ‘07 where we had the second highest military games turn out yet we were just shy of 100 players. We had some good teams out there like Wild Bunch and MN Militia. We had a lot of good players from some other teams from up by Rice Lake and the Twin Cities as well. All day the team that the Wild Bunch was on was doing a good job controling the field and accomplishing their missions on time and preventing the other team from accomplishing theirs.

It was down to the Convoy Op. We did it were each team had a chance to run the convoy and to attack it. The first time the team Wild Bunch was on defended the Convoy not only did they do that, they pushed the other team all the way back to there respond point and eventually broke the hearts of the other teams will to play out the last 5 min. they had left. (once the convoy was attacked the convoy had 45 min to defend the convoy until they had reinforcements thus completing there mission.) The Attackers needed to be able to take the convoy with in that 45 min. period. Attackers had unlimited response but they had a little ways to walk to there respond. The defenders had 3 responds.

I decided I was able to play the last round of the Convoy Op. I loaded up two cases of paint into pods and through some extra Compressed air tanks. The team I was playing on had been dominated all day. The MN Militia had already left. I grabbed Eric one of my best players that had been working for me all day and we took a small group of kids 4-5 from the other team. There was already a lot of talk going around on how we did not stand a chance and we were just going to get creamed. I was not sure how well we would do either I honestly felt we would only make it 30 min. myself. I knew I needed to rally every one up and get them to have more faith in themselves. Yes, it is easer when half the kids look to you for advice or consider me to at least half way know what I am doing. LOL But I motivated them they were to the point were they wanted to do suicide rushes just to get it over with. So I knew if I told them we could make it 45 min they would for sure LOL, so I said lets set a goal for ourselves. To make it 20 min., to play smart stay tucked in make good shots expose yourself only when you need to, not hold back on paint because there were only 20 min. left of the day. We went over who was going to go were when we would get attacked making sure our experienced players were spread out. Eric and I stayed watching the front flank and Todd and the rice Lake Team watched the rear flank and we had some New Richmond boys up the middle. The rest of the team was spread out and shifted as needed. We were hit strong at first it was a good fight. I was driving the Deuce and ½, and after getting hit by the rocket stopping the convoy the window was covered before I got out even. Eric and I both knew we would have to be laying down a good amount of paint to keep them back. We started fanning from the player that had flanked us the most on the front of the convoy back. We prevented the other team from crossing the trail and that was a key part of what we needed to do up front. The other team was also responding and replacing players fairly well at first. I kept looking at the time to see how long till we had reinforcements and I did not want to tell any one else that we had quite a fight yet. I would check to see how the rest of my team was doing on the other end and they seemed to be doing ok at holding back the attack on the other end. I was getting excited not only was every one doing what they were supposed to and or needed to do they were doing a great job of it. I was proud of them guys. We had lost a lot of guys off the initial attack but they had responded quickly and got back up there to help us hold off the attack. most of us had only gotten shot once at most with in the fist 10 min. I think there were only a couple of guys that got shot twice. I had already gone through 750 paintballs. I was getting a little worried on how fast most of us were going through paint. I knew we would make it our 20 min. but we were doing well and I wanted our team to make it as long as we could, and hopefully the full 45 min. as we would not be able to do so at the rate we were going through paint. I started checking with everyone to see were they were at. Having them hold back a bit on their paint and let them know they were doing a great job and to stay focused. I could see the surprise and excitement come back in a lot of their eyes that we were doing good and they could feel it and that they felt like they were doing the impossible. Even some of the older more experienced guys were getting excited. I kept them going by letting out a good whoop, yea, and whoot! I am not going to lie, even I was getting more excited. Still not knowing if we would make it. It was and heck of an attack force we were still facing but we were doing awesome.

20 min. had gone by the attack force was slowing down. Taking longer for them to respond. Some guys probably running out of paint and stuff. But we were getting lower as well. I was down to only about 750 left and we had 25 min. left. I knew the other team would slow down and run out of paint and stuff but we needed to play it smart. Most of our guys had only been hit once or twice. i think we had only lost one guy to getting hit all three times. I let them all know they made it there 20 min and they were excited. But we could make it more to see how long we could go. We needed to really conserve on paint. We would let the attackers get a little bit closer and waited for more open shots and not sending too much paint. We focused more on just enough paint to slow them down and to keep them back more so then having to eliminate every one every time. They were getting low as well so they were doing the same. They were slower in there advance on the convoy because they were thinking twice about having to walk back and responding. Some of our guys that were down to there last 50-100 balls wanted to do suicide runs or just run out there paint. I told them we needed every ball and every player. Them being there until they were hit all three times was a another target for them to have to use there paint on or to distract them while one of us got them. To take good shots. 35 min passed and we begun to get alot more relaxed we still had at least half our team. The attacks were not that strong. As we drew in on the 45 min. mark we still had attackers but it was sparse. Between running them out of paint and getting tired of responding we had broke them to the point were we made it the 45 min I don’t remember how many guys we had left I had made it the first 20 min with out getting hit then got hit again around 30 min into it. I made it the 45 with one life left as I think there was only one player left on our team with two lives left.

That was my Most memorable moment from military games. I was proud of all those guys especially the kids. a lot of events the deciding factor between teams are the kids. If you can take and lead them and if they are willing to follow. That Convoy Op every player did there part and what they needed to do. They did it well and I am proud!

I remember that, that was awesome! My group of guys was one of the groups that you talked into switching sides for the second convoy mission. I didn't make it all the way through till the end though, I used up my last life like 5 mins before the end.

And speaking of the Military games, Volkers, remember our two man flanking manuever? That was awesome too, and I still can't believe we pulled it off.:)

dribble:) I am so excited for this next year. Gettig even more excited over military games as things are all falling in place as we get closer to this event. As of right now we have a second duce and a half military truck locked in to the convoy as well. So far we are at three transport vehicles and two tanks as long as the second tank is built on time. This will make for an awesome convoy mission. I have a new location and set up for the convoy mission this next year and again we will do this one twice so both teams can defend and attack it as well. The down pilot mission will be a lot like last year only we will be using a down crew that does not know the area at all so it will be more dificult for them to use code talking to there rescue team as the Team did an outstanding job of doing last year! Just bringing it up a notch and making it more challanging yet! beret:)

Two trucks? Sweet, at least that way the paint getting shot at the back of the truck will be split in half:D

That was bad like two years ago, I think only half a dozen people or so made it out of the truck with their 3 lives still intact:character0051:
I was the second one to jump out of the truck....bad idea, all of the paint mean't for the first guy hit me:)

Took the New Truck for a drive today. Whoot. Excited this truck has a cover over the back as well. Trying to decide how I will do firing ports and what not. Then the only way out of the back is out the back door. I am thinking about changing that or just leaving the back compleatly open. Eather way I will have some thing good figured out by military games

2 TRUCKS!!! I really really really really REALLLLY hope its not muddy as heck like it was last year. Also, the sniper game was fun, but we need the teams to actually search for the snipers more and not just kill each other. Possibly edit the rules to make the search??? idk just an Idea. Looking forward to it eaither way.

Is this game fully booked? 300 maxed out? Is it still open? How many bps allowed? Full auto?

The game is still open for registration.

Edit: 15 bps cap, any mode. Semi auto 300 fps speed limit and any other mode 280 fps limit.

combatpaintball
03-25-2009, 12:37 PM
The game is not booked out at this time. BPS is caped at 15 full auto is ok as long as it falls under 15bps. Crono is under 300fps for semi any other mode to include reactive triggers is under 280fps.

To be considered under 3 shots in a row must be under the crono limit. If one spikes over there MUST be an adjustment made.

Any one cought makeing an adjustment on the field with out having a ref chrono it before shooting will be considered a major safty violation.

If you would do an interview it would prolly have to wait till after the game is done. We are extremely busy during the game most of the time and before it. However we may be very busy and im not going to say anything for him.

Send him a PM on here, he should log on before military games and if you dont get a hold of him you should be able to find him running around during the event.

I put a lot of stress on myself trying to make sure my event is the best event possible for everyone attending. Thus, even if everything is done and ready I'm always finding something to make it just a bit better. Besides, afterwards I will probably still be going through the adrenaline dump from the last convoy opp!!! So what better time to do an interview.

There will be plenty of room, bring as many as you can to make the game even bigger! Sign up soon though to get the pre-registration price!

We have not crossed the 200 player turn out yet. Thinking we will for Omaha beach this year! So I would guess that we will not max out on this event. Our average since the first year of this event is about 90 players. The ticket sales I have been told are up this year from past years at this time but again would guss that we will not max out.

Ticket sales are looking good. Just getting me more and more excited for this event. Last night I did not get much sleep just playing things out in my head. Things I might be able to add to a scenario or do different just to make it better. This weekend we should have most of the fields finished being set up for Military games. You would think I would be able to relax at that point but I get so pumped up over it. dribble:)drool:)

It's easy, just go down hwy 63 towards Clear Lake and you'll see a big sign on a barn, and it's back behind that barn. And the junkyard is on the next road on your right after you go past the barn.

How many tanks do we have running right now?

Not as many as we had hoped :( Ethan's tank is close to being finished, but he can't make it to the military games, so we don't have a driver and we also need a way to get it to combat since it's not exactly road legal.

As of right now what we should have running is three transports two being duce and a half's and two tanks. Not including CC Military Surplus tank. From what I hear will be out as of yesterday. Have not heard if the lil reb is up and running yet? That would add two more.

JJ I can help get the tank down call me so we can get some thing set up for thurs night friday at the latest if we can. Would like to have it at the field so we do not need to worie about it.

I'll give you a call later today. The only work that absolutely needs to be done yet is to take off the front windshield, and then put netting over the windows.

Plus do we have a driver for it?

we can always find some one to drive and we could prolly put the netting out at combat. Taking out the front windshield sucks unless you have one of those hot knives though or w/e they are. Im not going to try to take another one out by smashing it

Do you have a trailer available to haul it on? That's probably what would work best. It's an old Blazer (the tank).

Really? Like, how do you do it with that cause i have plenty of guitar strings. We tried cutting one out and that didnt work the greatest so we ended up smashing it out, which was a bad idea.

feed it between the frame and window wrap each end around a wood block and pull it around the window using 2 people of course works pretty slick

Rain sucks. I had a blast for the two missions I played in was looking forward to being able to play way more and would have even with the rain but can only do so much for the event when it is raining and a lot of players dont like the rain. GRR I dont like the rain eather though.

I was down in the creek bottom for the drug raid for two of my lives tried not getting wet for the most part but then said hell with it I was able to move better and get in better positions from there. Sorry to a reff if I shot fairly well all I could see was the black face mask and new it was not our team. So I shot then they did not go out so i shot again. Then was informed politly that I was shooting a ref. Sorry. I got a bunch of other guys out down in there though. The rain and cold sucked having to clean my barrel more than enough times to stay shooting some what strait. Over all I had a blast for what I played.

Lol, trying to sit in the creek bed and not getting wet? I was getting wet and i was in a tent for most of the event :(

And johnson - Now you know what we go through. Makes you think a little more about how abused refs are and the long days. I guess anyone who refs paintball is just a bad A** :)

Water in the barrel + a cold gun = a very inaccurate marker.

Despite the cold i still had fun though :)
