View Full Version : *US* Coalition Force (HFTC '09)
My name is AKA, General of the US Coalition Force. I am writing to all that will be available for Battle in the A.M. of May 3rd, 2009. The Hunt For The Cure '09.
A year will have past, almost to the day. When the last Battle had taken place. Where the Mercenary Forces and thier General GhostWolf, trespassed onto the Lands we vowed to protect, and have taken a Case belonging to us.
Therefore, I have been appointed to head up and reassemble our Forces to enter our once occupied lands and take back ALL that General GhostWolf and his Mercenaries have taken from Us.
Our Funds are low, so you will not be paid for allegiance to the Coalition Force. Unlike the Mercenary Force who are paid off in trinkets and lands that belong to the people that live there.
We go into this Battle as an Offensive Team, with our goal to Take Back All That Was Ours. So if you are with Us, I ask that you speak to all of the peoples you would want to side with us, all Men, Women and of age Children are needed. No matter what thier skills contain. I am listing the Teams and Individual UnderDogs (and will add to the list as time goes on). Who will either be returning or joining us, to accomplish our Missions and Goals. Thank-You to all./AKA

Woodland Security is about 98% desided to go Coalition. we just need to make a final desision at our Christmas Party Jan. 10th. We should have a strong force attending. This is one of the best events of last year, I'm sure it will be better yet in 2009.
I wonder if they are having the river setup again. That map was awesome
One thing I learned about the hunt. Its the first big game of the season and sitting on my but all winter wont cut it. I about died ,my body hurt for three weeks after. My New Years Resolution is to get in better shape. Endurance training, <<<Gettin old here>>>

People are always trying to invent unmanned automatic defense guns, but they always run into problems with the guns targeting, overshooting, and knowing when they're "out".
Krutsie is more than capable of shooting accurately, knowing when to stop shooting, and calling himself "out". Now that he can't move, he's perfectly suited for the role of defense gun!

as far as the Old man crack. I will be 40 this year but still hold the same weight I had at graduation. I will go anywhere and fight with my guys . I will not send my guys anywhere I wouldn't go myself. but I had the mentallity that I had to be out there with no breaks and I wore down. Just don't want it to happen again. We all know the fast pace game isn't where we shine but when the woods are quite. Lookout , Our snipers have no problem sitting and waiting for their prey. No we dont need redemption after the sppl affiliate tourney, we new it wasn't our style of play but we wanted to help get SPPL here in Minnesota. In all I'm in great shape for my age .I just want to be able to run faster than Ish. Being that i'm so skinny"ish"... and tall"ish". well taller"ish"
Thankyou's
I owe a thankyou to one of the Damage inc guys(he wore a burgundy muscle shirt and welded a sawed off shotgun) he was behind me when we were fighting a battle just south of the tippman tower. Hey dude, thanks for not telling anyone about me getting caught in that downed tree."feet dangling in the air". I was stuck bad ,
Thankyou to darrin and the Staff for clearing their field from all loose Barbwire.LOL
And thankyou to the guy who saw me almost passed out from heat exaustion sitting on the trail. that bottled water hit the spot and probebly saved my life.

Good, I'm Glad to see your coming back and re-uppen with the Coalition again. I see your From Wisc. so I think that makes you my first Wisc. Player to be on the Coalition so far this year. well, hopefully ill be bringing around 10 people or so from just my team. I dont know if you remember but 2 years ago we (travesty) only had 3 people and we took the other teams spawn point by ourselves and held it for 5 min against the whole re spawning team. It helped i guess we were shooting hellfire and they were shooting marbs. Hellfire doesnt bounce.
also, wild bunch is usually on the mercs if i remember correctly right? I always like to play them.

Frostbuster is held at a county park just south of Mountain lake,MN. we've been playing there for several years now and this is often the first chance for those of us who don't have indoor facilities available to us to play. it's usually a small game made up of mostly locals, but we've been getting more and more visitors over the last couple years. Even the the man himself Darrin, has been down to play. it's just an opportunity to shake off the rust and have a good time. It's a 30 acre park that will support around 80-100 players. we play on the honor system and it is strictly BYOE(bring your own everything). any one who would like to attend is welcome. if it's too cold we'll just build a fire. any one interested can PM me and I will give you specific directions from your area.

Thanks for mentioning that AKA so I can clear this up,
ISH was my Lima unit captain last year.
Tokyo was my Alpha captain and
Buche'E was my omega captain
This setup worked great for a while but Alpha got smaller due to the absence of their captain most of the summer. And Omega disapeared, literally.
at the battle of Serinity Valley my wife was willing to come play(every husbands dream) so I handed the squad to Ish to lead so I could focus on teaching my wife the game. The desision was due to the fact that all of Lima unit was there.(Like they were all summer).
This year we are forming as one squad. I am in full control .no more lima.alpha, and omega. So to answer your question ,Krutsie is in full control.

As far as I know, I am the only confiremed Merc on these boards....and its not in my nature to to smack talk..
On a side note, there was a friendly smack talk going on Spec Ops last year, that drew a lot of negative attention....From people who didnt realize that it was just friendly banter going on, and that at the end of the day it was all for a good cause.

My post is not intended to create tention it is purely in fun. I will probably end up playing with half the mercenarys in other scenarios anyway so I obviously wouldn't want to actually make people mad. If people think my smack is too negative than they are reading WAY too far into it. I talk smack, it's part of my game. It's all in fun though, anyone who knows me knows this. I also like putting a tarket on my back. I feel like it makes me sharper and improves my game.
So as a "Disclaimer" My smack is purely in fun, I mean no insult or disrespect to anyone on either of the teams.
Also, feel free to talk smack back. As long as everyone is able to keep things within reason there should be no issue.

we will be upfront as well!
as for Slick he is 1 of 3 founders of our team and knows his stuff, when ever I have a question about a gun, barrel, mask etc. he is the first one I go to because he researches EVERYTHING! as for the cocky, confident, aggressive nature he is our #1 front man/dagger and almost every front man I have ever met is the same way because after all who wants a front man who second guesses themselves or is afraid to make that move that needs to be made in order for the rest of the team to advance up the field.
as for telling the Merc's your #, they wont be able to see it on your back!.... so just wait until you see a steady stream of your fellow merc's walking back to the dead box and we will be coming right behind them!!!

One of the most important things will be the missions in this game. Eliminations of the opposing force help, but finding hidden Koolamula ferns, special weapons, etc. will make the difference between Coalition victory and another defeat.
I KNOW we can send the Mercs back to their deadbox in vast quantities, we just have to remember to squeeze every last point out of the scenario.

Well of course it IS a scenario. :) But I say we get 3 or 4 squads doing missions, while us speedballer go off killing people.

We're good at that, I think our team (The four of us that where there) racked up something like 1200pts in money bags (and what the bags bought) at Serenity Valley and that total doesn't even count the points from bases we took and held.
It was kinda funny because Andy and I took that tower that was North of "tower field" and held it by ourselves for about 10 mins. We hadn't played at ST much before that and we couldn't figure out why there were so many browncoats trying to take the tower? It seemed like there was a steady stream of them.Come to find out we were only a couple hundred feet from the browncoat main base and respawn area. We could have held it for the full 15 mins but we ran out of paint trying to hold everyone off. We were up in the tower and I kept taking hits in the forehead that weren't breaking because everyone was so far away. My forehead was so sore at the end of that day. I think I took something like 7 rounds to the head. I'm trippling up headbands this year.

I think I like these Ace's High guys!
Missions are deffinately what the game is about, but it is much easier for teams to run missions when there are a bunch of head cases running around up front creating mayham for the other team.
Can't wait! Maybe I should bring an extra case or nine?

as for Slick he is 1 of 3 founders of our team and knows his stuff, when ever I have a question about a gun, barrel, mask etc. he is the first one I go to because he researches EVERYTHING! as for the cocky, confident, aggressive nature he is our #1 front man/dagger and almost every front man I have ever met is the same way because after all who wants a front man who second guesses themselves or is afraid to make that move that needs to be made in order for the rest of the team to advance up the field.
Thanks Bro!
Andy is being modest though, He is every bit as good of front player as I am.
but the new guy or being your new on the forum people don't know if your 25 and a senior player or a 15 year old know it all.
It's ok Krutsie, I'll let the new guy thing slide.
I've only played against you once, it was the last time you guys came out to our field. I was the one with the white paint? LOL
The team keeps me locked up most of the time, they don't want to scare all the other players.

The BSV scenario was really the first scenario I attended that had things like money bags. And I didn't find a single one, of course I was looking for people though:rolleyes:
Basically my strategy is just eliminate as many of the enemy as possible, and let people who have done this before complete missions and find props.

sometimes it turns out though, last year at HFTC my little squad found the down pilot in record time, they had literally just set up the pilot on the stretcher, when lo and behold my team comes running through there. I started off carrying the stretcher, but realized (after about 20 ft) that carrying this person up and down the hills of splat tag was not my cup of tea.

Sentinels are able to perform either task - fighting off Mercenaries or running missions.
I know and am Glad to hear all our Team Players know thier Jobs.:) This will make mine that much easier.;)
But what I(we) need is more of those Independent Players. You all know the ones I'm talking about. They're the ones that join in with a Team and lend a very helpful Gun. Its at times when you've lost a few of your point men that this Player shows up and fills in while your still able to move forward. I know these Guys, I'm one of 'em. We work alone, we know our jobs and we help get things done.:character0095: There are a lot of Independents out there, some feel Teams don't want them Taggen along, so they Don't. Well I say Nuts to that, Teams need these Guys because even the Best Teams out there still lose Teammates to eliminations, air out, no ammo, porta pottie, fog up, etc.etc.;)

Just a thought.
I'm small(ok skinny) and fast so I'll deffinently be a front man most of the day. I have oddly never made the opening gun/fireworks for any big game I'm always lazy at first.

I carry two memories from that first HFTC:
Shootin out about 15 Mercs that were runnin in the valley, while I stood on top just pouring the paint down. (first like 20 minutes of the game too)
and
Wandering across a prop that had been misplaced, lol refs wouldn't let us move it for about 20 minutes while they figured out what was going on. Myself and one other guy waited at the base it was in the whole time hearing a massive firefight off in the distance where the prop was supposed to be located.
Good times! I'm lookin to make more of em this year.

But please be aware, I carry 9 pods plus my magna can hold 220 with the bottom plate out. That means I am carrying 1480 rounds each time I go out and I can empty all my paint and take one of your pods before I need to air back up. That means I can shoot a lot of paint ,and a lot of paint means a lot of dead mercs. But you're more than welcome to try and keep up. LOL!
We'd also be glad to have you run with us.
I have an Idea Andy and I were talking about that might really work for all the fast teams. I think we can do a little more than just run around and shoot everything up (although the plan is basicly running around shooting things up just with structure and purpose). The plan will use about 15 fast players. Teams or players interested PM me and I will PM AKA with a list of teams/players we can use and I will run the idea past him. Kind of both. The roles are printed on the back of the cards randomly. But there are several of each role. Your general pays your "training fee" and tapes the arm of the player they choose to fill that role.

We're still the Coalition.
They hinted at the anarchists being connected to the Mercs, so... we'll see. Maybe they're the same, maybe they're not. Maybe a third party will appear to play as the anarchists, maybe not.

Owch. Oh well, if im mowing faces im having fun, winnings nice but i put having fun over that, especially at a charity event. That being said, Having a few squads and teams cutting down enemies and pushing them back and hold a certain amount of the field will definitely help those who do run the missions.

I'm hoping some Mercs are reading this and getting a little bit nervous about the intensity of the Coalition. :D
But we can't get over confident, or we'll lose before the game even starts!
There's a fantastic range of play styles chomping at the bit for this game, which is awesome.
It's also a challenge, because everybody is going to have to work a little bit outside their normal game to get it done.
The more we can get people playing well together, pulling in walk-ons and guiding the newbies, the better we'll do.

Totally agree. there are many times I wished I was able to contact the guys hammering the front line to help support a mission. I think the main objective to win and domminate is Comunications among teams and command. Another thing to consider(The rules)
example:
Battle of serinity valley. Our squad went out on a mission with our gen. Mustangman and his workin class heroes to retrive an object at miranda(Reavers home base) Chad(Rinno)Darla(my wife) and I walked into Mirranda guns pointed at a few of the guys outside the tent,I said we were on a mission to come get an object. they said the enemy team was here 20 minutes ago and got the object already. he started walking towards us with his Lipstick knife. he said,Its in the rules you cant shoot in a 50 ft ratius of the base.He knifed my wife and chad,I dodged a few and deside to surender . The issue was ,I didn't know the rules. If I would have known we couldn't fire that close I wouldn't have approached. Leason learned(long walk back). but later in the game we had a group of guys down the hill from our base peppering our netting .we walked out the net to instant fighting. was a 50 ft rule in effect or was that a lie to get knifed earlier. The key is to memorize the rules. instill in your team members to go over the rules. I wont make that mistake again...

Hehe, I think knife wielding madmen should consider the possibility of being lit up an occupational hazard.
And I have a simple argument against anyone using "knifes", if I have to worry about someone knifing me when I yell surrender....well I'll just stop saying surrender. Of course if no one minded the pain, that would just make the game so much more fun

There's definitely planning going on, but we want to keep things close to our chests until it gets closer to Game Day.
For now, just do some cardio workouts and squats to prepare yourself for sprints up Splat Tag's hills. :) And read them rules! That handful of points you get for picking up some miscellaneous bit might make the difference!

That sounds good SandMan26. (This goes for anyone who may be working on getting someone new to the Game). The HFTC Game is a Great introductory Game for the want to give the Game a try people. Here are some reasons you may want to give when talking Paintball to these people.
1). Its a Charity Game put on by respectable people, with plenty of supervision and a very close eye on the rules being followed by all.
2). Prize giveaways that just might win them some of the most top notch equipment to keep them into the Game. Also Raffles for an extra chance at more.
3). Of course there is the Going for a Good cause, all money's raised will be going for the Huntington's Disease Foundation to help find it's Cure.
4). A chance to play with the most talented Players, who keep PaintBall alive in the upper MidWest.
5). And then there is....The most adrenaline pumped Memory they will ever have in their lifetime!
I know there are more reasons than the 5 I gave, so feel free to add your own reasons that a recruiter may use to get the new player on the field for the HFTC '09 Event.drills:)
While we are on the subject of bringing in the new/green/beginner or whatever, I will give out a bit of info. I have as an Order in my plan. I feel it will not Jepordize the Coalition's "Top-Secret" Plans, but will bring some relief to the New Players being to the Game and or the Field.
As the Commander of the Pelican Brigade I am ordering them to step back one step from full on play, and to become the Coalition Brigade. They're orders will be to help and guide any player on the field that may become lost, have equipment problems, or try to answer any ?'s they might have.
This will help by giving those with other important Jobs in the Game less distractions from their job. They will be able to assist in battle only after they have shagged the Lot Loungers back into the Game.:D
By doing this, is in no way saying the refs or other players are not capable of doing this, but as you know Refs cannot share info or intel to players, and other players and Refs would'nt always report back to me where our problems are when it comes to the Lost and bewildered.;)/AKA

Haha yeah when we get to playing more with each other down here with the "League" we should be able to know each other pretty well to go up and crush some Wisconsin people later in the year. It sounds like it's going to be a great year.

Team Travisty dosn't exist anymore. The team that volkers is the captain of is Team Power.
Maybe you could edit that...

Yeah he's right, we were toying around with resurecting Travisty, or going with a new team name. And we went with a new team, Team Power.
Yeah we kinda switched that around on you a couple times AKA:rolleyes:

Haha, alright we're already butting heads (we just don't have cheese on ours...) It should be a fun and competitive game, I'm certainly looking forward to it. Though I do go to college in Wisconsin, so I might sneak over and listen in on the Wisconsin side for some intel. They won't notice cause I'll say things like "bubbler" instead of water fountain, "soda" instead of pop and might even throw in "casserole" instead of hot dish to top it off, though I'm not sure how we'd get to talking about food.
Anyways it'll be a great game for a great cause.

Who says "bubbler", "soda", and "casserole"? I don't, but I only live half an hour from the border so maybe I've been corrupted...tongue:)
"Casserole" I can see people saying, same with "soda" (I have to correct a couple of my friends all the time) but "bubbler"? I seriously haven't heard that one before.
Well hopefully Minnesotans are better at paintball than their beloved Vikings are at football. I mean come on! No superbowl wins? :D

Haha well it must be because all the good players are coming to play paintball instead of football...and yeah River Falls is barely into Wisconsin too, but we have some people here from deeper in Wisconsin that swear it's a "bubbler"...

I have a friend who is an independent and he wants to play at our side. Is there any way he can assure to play with us?
There is never any real gaurantees in Games such as these. The sides must be equalled of course for the makings of a fair fight. That's why We Generals must be carefull as to how much info. we will share with Teams & Independents that inlist under us.
But to answer your ?, is to say yes so to speak, When you sign up there will be a Question as to who you would like to represent. The Mercenaries or the Coalition. Of course he would check the Coalition, and make sure to have him fill out both waivers then also. What may help is you to be with him at the time of his Check-In.;)
We can only Hope that GhostWolf is having as much Success at recruiting Teams and Independents as the Coalition. Although a Great long list of Teams & Independents does not mean a Great Amount of Players will come from such List. With this in mind, do I hold back on my recruitment? Or do I continually stack our numbers? The Un-Known is sure to cause some more Hair loss.help:)/AKA

Sweet. Looking forward to it. It seems like that will fit who we have, (a bunch of small teams working together). I always think people play better with people they know so that'll be good.

I just checked the website and there was no on-line/web registration option. Only the mail-in registration form is available. Is this the only way to sign up ahead of time or am I missing something?
BTW: It's Hydrohawk, not HydroHawk (I know I'm being nit picky, but I think the other spelling is a brand name...)
