I know there is at least one rep for Splat Tag on here. I have 2 questions about the Woodsball Classic.
We can't use an Ion, even if it's turned onto semi?
And the description of the "old school capture the flag" is kinda confusing? Does each team take their own flag to the other team's base, or take the other team's flag back to their base?
First of all Welcome to the Forum. I have moved your post hear from the upcoming Scenario Events Board, since it is a question about an event. I posted a link to Splat-Tags rules on the Event hoping this answers your question./AKA

Ah yeah I did look over their rules earlier. How they word the flag rules is all screwy and it doesn't quite make sense.
And I was wondering if an "electro" gun could be modified or turned off to play in it?

The short answer is no. The rules say mechanical markers only, and that's it.
The long answer is that the purpose of the "classic" element is to retain the feel of a paintball tournament from an earlier time - mainly the 90s pre-electro times. Thus, introducing electros cancels the whole point of making it a "classic" tournament.
There are plenty of quality mechanicals out there (classic automags go for $150 or less these days), so it's not hard to find gear for use in it.
If you or anyone else is unwilling to purchase a mechanical for the classic series, there are still events (even tournaments) for you at Splat Tag -- but that's the part I have to leave to Darrin, as I don't know what all is coming to Splat Tag in '09.
The intent of the old-school woodsball classic isn't exclusion of players or of new technology, just another fun event that happens to require mechanical gear for the event.

Thanks for the info. I myself have played with a Tippmann 98 Custom for the last 5 years, so no electros is fine with me. I was just wondering for some of my team mates. We may have to just move some markers around if we want to play in it.
Anyone know about the CTF format? Do we bring our flag to their base or their flag back to our base?

More than likely it's bringing their flag back to your base.

From the past "Woodsball Classic" tournaments that I have been in, it has always take the enemy team's flag back to your base - Confirming badger's statement.

Thanks! I was just making sure. I might do one of them this year
