The company that owned the NPPL (and PB2X magazine) is going bankrupt and is liquidating everything. That doesn't mean another company won't buy the rights and continue the league. I wouldn't bet my life that it will be back with a new owner, but it is possible.

who knows, maybe this will unify paintball teams if we have one league? Maybe they will grow stronger and help support and promote paintball more? Will the PSP do a 7 man league? The NPPL was always the league that was on tv so now will the PSP look to take the TV market with the NPPL reeling? If the NPPL doesnt start back up next season will they ever and how long will it take? Will people even want the NPPL back if times are good and prosperous under the PSP regime?

All questions that carry a major impact for paintball players. Im gonna miss PB2X and the NPPL though. Even though i didnt really read PB2X i know a lot of people did and it really helped promote the sport. The NPPL was always on tv and did some great promoting. If neither of them return ill be kinda down but it will be interesting to see what it will be like with finally only one league.

looks like shawn walker already has another league ready for next year. Anyone going to trust him after he ran the NPPL down into the dirt? He did fine i guess with the NPPL, but no where near what chuck did with it.

But then again too so are a lot of people. Sometimes being greedy like that can help a company but it can definitely hurt. I never really payed attention to Walker so im not in any position to judge him.

I guess I got my articles in while the gettin' was good. Well, if I write any more, I can always submit them to Action Pursuit or maybe even Paintball Sports.

What is really going on as I see it.

Pacific Paintball was just gone Bankrupt.

They own a number of companies including:
NPPL
PB2X Mag
The www.paintball.com (http://www.paintball.com) web site
And a few other.

Most of the companies Pacific Paintball owned are doing OK and are worth money.

These compaies will be sold off to help pay off Pacific Paintball bills.
So I would bet you will see the NPPL back in 2009 or running under a new name. Same with PB2X Mag and you paintball.com someone will always own that.

I was actually hoping to see a year with only one pro league just to see how everything turned out. But not that there is a possibility of their being no NPPL i can already see more leagues popping up to do 7 man. 2 already are the RPL (shawns new league) and the WCPPL (which is looking pretty decent).

and APG Badger? lol, i had a year subscription for that a few years ago, then i got it renewed for another year and all it seemed like it was was articles being repeated by different writers. How many times do i have to learn the quickest way to change a 12 g or 101 tactics for using camo? I see articles like that all the time in their. a little off topic, just my 2 cents on APG.

Yeah, I hear ya, evolkers. That's why I always enjoyed writing articles on games no one really hears about. Giant Big Game, HftC, a game in Texas, Chicago, etc. To tell the truth, I get sick and tired of seeing the same articles about D-Day and Skirmish time after time.

What I'd really enjoy doing is submitting articles about new scenario game ideas, like the ones I put in my books. However, I never get any response at all from magazine publishers about concepts like that.

yea, i dont think magazines are very good about telling their writers anything. I talked to T-hump (tyler humphrey for those of you that dont know) at OK DDay this last summer and he said PGI didnt really tell him anything. Like all of a sudden the stopped using his articles and what not and they just stopped paying him and never really told him anything. Now, if i remember PGI stopped producing? I think that was one of the most disappointing times in my personnel paintball career over the last 8 years or so. PGI and Splat were my favorite mags and to see both of them suffer kinda sucked. At this point i know how to practice my snap shooting, i know drills to improve every area of my game, what i want now is to be more entertained when reading a paintball magazine. PGI was always nice to read and Splat is very, very funny.
