Red Dawn III

Saturday Sept. 6th 2008

...the soviets have seized control of Smalltown, WI. The Rebellion, which started in the Rockies and has now spread to the Midwest, has now grown to the point that the 'Wolverines'--which members of the Rebellion have come to be known--are now strong enough to launch a major offensive throughout the USA. This is the story of one such group of rebels in Wisconsin...determined to liberate Smalltown and drive the soviets off of american soil once and for all...

Little Brother vs Weasel...need I say more? LB will be leading the soviets, while Weasel has control of the Wolverines. The rules for On Your Honor will apply...with the Soviets getting one tank (I'm cautiously optimistic), and 6 helicopters (only one on the field at a time, unless we are without the tank, in which case there will be two). The wolverines will have two rocket launchers. We will also allow Engineers, which can both destroy/repair designated structures on the field. I will have a rules update and link to said rules shortly...

The day will be split into two parts:

part one: The Wolverines launch a major offensive...the soviets must defend the city. No Helicopters allowed during part one. All Soviets (except the tank crew) will take defensive positions in the city (bunker ball field). The Wolverines (attacking from the north and west) must take over the city before reinforcements arrive. Reinsertion for the Wolverines is every five minutes for first 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, wolverines can no longer reinsert. The soviets will only get one reinsertion at the 20 minute mark. The soviet dead box will be located on the 'road' at the far northern end of the field. If shot out of village, the dead player must get to the dead box before the 20 minute reinsertion point to be reinserted. The tank will start the game at the dead box...the tank does not enter the game until the dead box empties at the 20 minute mark. Whoever owns the city at the end of the battle (last man standing) is the winner of part one.

part two. The outcome of part one will determine how part two plays out...

The registration for this game is $15/person. That includes all day air/co2. BYOP fee is $10. Field paint is $50/case or $13/bag.

Shawack field is located right across the street from Ponderosa Pines (287 State Rd 73, Bancroft, WI 54921). You can google that address for directions. There will have a sign up the morning of the game.

The agenda for the day will be as follows:

8am: Registration begins.

915am: Game briefing.

10am: Game begins.

As explained earlier, there will be two parts to this game. After part one (the fight for the city), there will be a 45-minute break and then part two will begin. We will break for lunch from 1-2 pm, and then play from 2-5pm. 530 pm we will hand out awards and begin raffles.
