I also had fun. Apart from the double tap to the forehead that had me seeing stars for a bit, great shooting! beret:)

I'm going to write a story on this for Paintball 2Xtremes magazine, so Wild Bunch, please let me know the final scores again, and if so (generals) who your MVP and MVT's were again.

Great turnout!

Woodland Security had a blast. It was cool see all of you. I never got knifed. hehe. actually on a cool note. the guy who won the b5 was a guy considering joining our squad, he had a cheap gun and had issues all day with it.He joined after today. It went to someone who needed it. and Badger. I won your book.

Don final score was 995 to 865 Mercs. The Generals (Foster and GhostWolf) will have to tell you who the MVP's for their sides where again. Sorry fellas I cant remember the names.
As for MVT it was ETec (again sorry if this is not the correct spelling etc) GhostWolf can again verify that.

Thats correct Merc won the game and have ONCE again proven that they are the Kings (and Queens of the HUNT).

I would like to say again of Behalf of Wild Bunch and HDSA to everyone that came out and to the Sponsers. Thank you. This was by far (and I mean FAR) the largest turn out for the HUNT final total number of players was 370. Thats Correct 370 players. The number of players doubled from the year before and that was double the year before that and that was double the first year (the first year we had more refs and volunteers then players).

While we raised less for HDSA then last year that was because last year we had a donor that matched 2-1 the donations that we raised so while we raised a total of 30k last year we raised 20k this year with no matching funds from anyone... This money was raised by players only!!!!!!!! SO to everyone GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

not sure why the other thread was closed, but I had a few things I wanted to say.... no surprise I know. My teammates and I had an outstanding time. I think that game was almost more fun than any other game I've been to in a long time. I think the scenario and the reffing were excellent. Thank you WB for putting together such a great event and especially thank you for doing it for charity. thanks Darrin, for hosting the event and for your hospitality. I had an absolute blast the whole day.

We need to hear some feedback on the game yesterday.
What did we do right?
What did we do wrong?
We cannot continue to improve the Hunt for the Cure without the players input.
Be honest, we can take it!

**EDIT**
/\/\_I will work on a bit of a "review" for you WB_/\/\

Great (almost too) complex story line WB!

It was cool to meet a lot of new people, and put a name to a mask.
Great game, Thanks to all the players who kept the spirit despite the physical drain. In the end it came down to the little things...we were only split by 20 or so points going into final battle. While the final stage was "make or break" for us, the smallest thing earlier in the game (a common 50 pt. mission) could have turned it into a "dont let them get it" ending.

I really hope everyone who played for Yellow had a good time, Despite being on our heels in the final chapters. I appreciate everyones will to win & am truley heartbroken that I could not find a way to pull it out at the end.
The raft battle was my best memory, those who were on the field to the end know what I am talking about. Wave after wave we went for it, everyone knowing that this one single objective could ensure victory...or seal our fate.
There were times that we got so close that I could taste it!

None the less everyone loves a close game, and that is exactly what we had going on all day. Good job to the enemy GW for his 2nd half comeback victory, and to everyone who makes HFTC "The Twin Cities Premiere Scenario Event"

Next year I get to play it!...recon:)

There is still one thing that HAVE to know...What was in the case?

I had a blast. Tired as I am, I'm really glad I went and proud of the $20k the event made.

We need to hear some feedback on the game yesterday.
What did we do right?

Reffing was outstanding throughout the game. Seriously, you guys were tight.

It was also good that things occurred on schedule so that players knew "5 minutes" actually meant 5 minutes. :)

What did we do wrong?I would have liked more info in the briefing up front. A heads-up on team colors, showing us some of the props (the "helicopters"), maybe spending a few more minutes talking about the scenario "big picture", etc.

I don't know how practical a team briefing would be - but gathering both the Coalition and Mercs in front of their general for a few minutes would have helped eliminate some of the confusion (who's the general, where's the base, etc)

Take that for what it's worth (I've never run a scenario!).

There is still one thing that HAVE to know...What was in the case?

Koolamula project research files were in the case.
Which reminds me, we didn't get many koolamula ferns turned in. Must be too hard to find? Perhaps some brighter, more noticeable silk flowers next year?

One flaw; Next year we will be sure to notify the food moms of our lunch schedule so they can have plenty of burgers/dogs ready at one o'clock...
Food line was pretty long & some players didn't have enough time.

I didn't know to look for them, and that is my fault. I didn't spend the time reading about the scenario details before the event (sorry, Coalition!), and at about 9:05am I realized that I was even more clueless than usual going into the event.

Would it be practical to have a poster made with the scenario details, and hang it by the main Splat Tag map? That would help people like me, who always wait to do our homework until the morning it is due.

The good:
The way you used the field was great. Initially, I thought dividing up the field with a raging river is going to make it h#ll for anyone trying to complete a mission. However, in the afternoon, I was grateful for the river to keep opposing forces from being completely overwhelming on our base. Those choke points helped keep the enemy off our backs from time to time.

Your referees were courteous and everywhere we needed one. I took a page from your book on that one for Serenity Valley coming up in July.

The weather was unmatched. You don't have control of that, but you couldn't have picked a better day.

The bad:
I noticed a lot of aspects were still unclear to both players and referees. When asking a referee to give a call on an issue, a lot of times I heard, "I don't know, let me call it in and ask." Again, for Serenity, I'm going to thoroughly go over all the rules with my referees (MMPT members) and make sure they know the scoop. I don't want my guys saying to players, "heck, I don't know."

There was a TON of swearing out on the field, but that's not WB's fault, that's the players. I would like to see a drop in the sailor-talk, but that's just my opinion.

The initial Mercenary base was in the middle of the field, to the left of the river on the map. After a bit, the base got changed to Warfare's fort which had a bunch of people wondering what that was all about. There was also confusion about touching the initial base there, or going to the true base to reinsert. This wasn't clear to many people.

The ugly:
Badmoon. ;) Just kidding, Nate...

There wasn't an ugly aspect. I'm very glad you guys hauled in that much cash for the cause. What have you guys brought in total, over all four years?

last minute rule changes,

like the hot bridge rule (with dead players) kinda made it pointless to have dead bridges cause they all crossed hot bridges anyway......

other than that, nothing much,

I hate being owned with a double trouble 20 feet away : )

yeah, it was great to be able to put a face to the names of the people we talk to on here so often. I am completely exhausted today and have blisters on both feet from all the running I did. Badger, sorry about the head shot. we came in hot and just reacted when the guys in front of you opened fire. don't think it was me that actually tagged you, but I know that you probably got popped a few more times than needed, so my apologies on that.that was probably the most intense part of the day for my guys though I know that.

WB-another idea for the SEAL team might be to actually use PFDs instead of the water wings those things were next to impossible to keep on.:D
your reffing was superb.

I think the game play on both sides was good. I didn't personally see any wipers. I did have to reprimand a fellow yellow player for talking after being shot though.bangh:)I do wish that we didn't have to hear swearing on the field. I know I slipped a couple of times, but some people need to learn that profanity isn't a second language. if your vocabulary is limited to four letter words, please go back to school or shut up.quiet:)

This has always been one of my favorite games of the year. Alot of work gets put into the planning and it shows! Its a long piece, but I wanted to give complete feedback. Any further clarifications and such send a PM!

The good:
Great turnout! 350+ is great! Congrats on raising $20,000! And all by the players no less!

There was some excellent refereeing. THe mission referees husseled and took some hard shots to get paint checks in. Well done! I was impressed. There were also some instances where live players crossed through the dead mans bridges (yellow tape) and were caught and sent back. Good eyes!

Also, time for missions to be completed was done with little error. When time ran out it ran out; strong communication on the radios. This was a strong point. Tight time schedual was kept almost to a T.

The river was a great addition to the game, it made things very difficult and interesting at times. THis threw quite a kink in many plans. (and a bottle neck, as many can attest to!) Quite a fresh out look on a familiar field.

The missions were interesting as well as the props. Not quite sure how cheese graders, elmo ducktaped across his mouth and a plastic plane work, but that happens :) Having the generals captured and blowing the bridges up was certainly different! (in a good way of course)

Great weather for paint ball. Co2 fills and HPA fills without a problem all day!

The critical: As was previously mentioned, several referees had questions with the rules. Some didnt know the rules as well as I thought they should have and there were some snafus (sp?)

Some rules should have been made clear about the tank in the briefing. Not that the tank did that much damage  but ... still should know about not getting too close.... etc etc. The briefing should also include what to look for (like the plants and such). Maybe having time for the general to meet with his troops to explain this would do the job. I understand about keeping the briefing short, so maybe the general can explain the missions and storyline more extensively.

Of most concern was I seen some refs pull up masks to smoke while in game (and a firefight going on none the less). Not to mention the safety concerns as well as setting a poor example for the players around them. THis should NOT happen, ever.

The opening moments of the game was very confusing, and some snafu's about the bridge crossings. From my read of the rules, dead players could not cross red bridges (for live players), and they could only cross yellow bridges. However this turned out to not be the case and got a little confusing who was live and who wasn't.

I didnt see any hand held chronographs on the field. Not to say that there were not any. I think there should be at least *some* spot checks since we all only required to chrono in the morning. Just a suggestion.

Great Game this Hunt for the CURE!
Good job by both Generals! GW and foster!

I got aobut 50pics of the final battle. I do want to say this was the funniest, best Scenario game I've played (even better than the Res-evil).

I got 30-40 eliminations 5 of which are barrel tags.
Speacking of which I would like to clearify something:
I barrel taged a player he didn't notice (or the ref, no fault of his) and so I I did it again to make sure that both he and the ref knew. But once I did that this conversation happened:

player:"well don't you have to ask for surreneder?"
I replied: "not on a barrel tag."
The ref:"you are kind of suppose to."
me: "I never heard that, I thought if you tagged him its an out no exceptions (unless I'm out first of course)."
Player: "Well I would have like to had been asked."
Me: "well do you want to get hit in the neck at point blank?"
Player:"Yeah if it gives me..(can't remember his words)"
Me:Ok *i rose my gun up pointing at his chest (the gun was off so it wasn't going to shoot)*
Ref:"woow woo, settle down you are out (point at the player), but you(me) should ask for surrender next time."

I would like to clarify on this do I have to ask for surrender on a barrel tag?

P.S. I will post some of my better pics.
P.S.S Kyle I'm sorry I couldn't find you at lunch, but don't worry about it.
P.S.S.S I HAVE 4 STUPID BLISTERS AND CAN'T WALK BECUASE THEY ARE ALL ON THE BOTTOM OF MY FEAT!!!!!!!

I really hope everyone who played for Yellow had a good time, Despite being on our heels in the final chapters. I appreciate everyones will to win & am truley heartbroken that I could not find a way to pull it out at the end.

Don't get too hard on yourself, as XO I take a good deal of that responsibility. I was in charge of the first squad to arrive at the island's location, and I had the chance to get it (if I had had the SEALs with me) completely unhindered (we had pushed them back off their side of the river, then lost that side due to attrition between faster Merc reinsertions (just part of the game, not a complaint) and demoralized forces leaving the game early.

Not planning ahead for the island was my fault, and thus I accept the responsibility as such.

On to the Hunt review...

What I thought was good

-The reffing was great, as always.

-The story -- For the vast bulk of the game, the storyline was great. The general capture plot-twist was a great idea, and it gave me a chance at some command work in Foster's absence.

-The "river" -- the river/bridges system made our lives a little easier in keeping the Mercenaries away from our base and (mostly) on their side of the field. It also took me by surprise, I never would have guessed that was going to be a part of the game until Brutis released the map information.

What I thought needed improvement

While the story was great, I thought that some mechanics of the game were a little too complex. A great example was the HQ swap. We had a lot of late-comers to the field, so when they inserted late, they did so at our first location, not our real insertion point. This led to a serious shortage in manpower for the first hour and a half. If a similar idea were to be used in the future, if possible I'd recommend having a ref near the entrance of the field to tell the late comers the actual reinsertion point so they can properly reinsert and jump right into the game without the chaos of wondering why the other team has the location they were told to go to as an HQ.

If I think of anything else, I'll edit this post.

Overall, great work again Wild Bunch. Thanks to all who made this event possible.

Well another Great Game has come and gone for another year. Again had a great time at this years event, Thank you WB & Splat-Tag(Darrin) and everyone else who puts in their time for this Game. I myself go to the Game for a good time and get into some good shoot-outs, found plenty of those for sure. So no complaints on the Game from me. Mix ups and confusion adds to my Game to keep me thinking or guessing as what to do next. Without this it is just another Game of Paintball. Things can't always be laid out on a platter to keep from having to think and re-act at moments notice, or it just becomes routine. I to was cought up in confusion in the beggining and got the heck shot out me for being someplace Bad! But only looked at it as, well that's differant.:D
Anyway, this Game was to me my first, as far as seeing all the Teams and groups of Players from all over getting together and playing out an excellant Battle of Give and Take. I enjoyed meeting alot of you and hope we can all do it up again at next years Hunt for The Cure.
As to the Generals of the two sides, win or lose, its the little battles that we fought and won that meant the most, because thats where the Fun was./AKA

To Shaman in his comment regarding the effectivness of my team's tank,

You seem to underestimate how effective the tank was or you didn't actually see the tank yourself. Whenever I was the gunner, we cleared a number of bases with the Quadzilla gun turret. In the final battle we cleared out an entire trail and then pushed up into Berlin and laid waste to about thirty-forty enemies. We then parked at Berlin and lobbed hell onto the heads of those at, I believe, Zurick. tank5:)

The reactions of those that saw and were victimized by our tank was hilarious.laughing:) People were falling down the hills trying to run from it.help:) We did get taken out a number of times but that's true with any tank. The fact that I didn't even get to use the tank to fight the Mercenaries was quite frustrating, especially since the Merc's had far fewer LAW's than the coalition, which was technically my team. Oh well, my pity for them melted away when they started shooting at my head.

I think the "effectivness" of our tank was more hindered by the red teams lack of guts. Each time we entered combat, there were at least fifty reds that wouldn't move up with the tank. We'd clear the area of yellow and then advance but with little or no support. The reds finally advanced towards the end of the day but only after we had been shot out by a LAW. I don't think Rommel's blitz strategy was to have all of his tanks die and then move up his infantry.Madtank:)

Anyway, the day was still one of the best events that I have ever been to. Great weather and Refs. The scenarios always kept us guessing and were fun to execute. I didn't like the fact that ALL the bridges had been demolished because both sides just sat on the border lines for half and hour waiting for it to be rebuilt but it was a nice breather.

I'll post some pictures later.

So YOU were that gunner that ruined my forces at Berlin at the end of the day!

:redfork:

I saw you guys camping there, and knowing the tank's limitations, I just stayed out of your turret range -- speaking of which, I have a plan for some upgrades that will take away that capability for others in the future.

Honestly, IMO the two biggest reasons the tank wasn't as effective as it could have been were:

-the turret limitations, as described above

-the oversaturation of launchers by the Coalition. I had at least a dozen of them out in the field, and they were all deployed near the bridges (or moved up to where the fighting was) so that at a second's notice, they could move to be right on top of the tank.

Now, if the Coalition had ever gotten any money at all (we got one koolamoola fern and one bar of cash that had been out in the field since the 2007 Hunt), we could have really done some damage.

Komodo
05-05-2008, 08:45 PM
Yeah, you pretty much nailed those weaknesses on the head. If the Coalition had bought the tank it would have been pretty one sided.

Sorry about having to waste you guys but the refs woudn't let me shoot shoot anyone except the yellows and I wanted to get some use out of it. It still was a pretty fun day despite the fact that we used our own tank against us.

Now we can brag about how we felt so bad for the Merc's that we had to use our own tank to even the odds. tongue:)

The tank really ran well considering the event was our field test. I thought we would have had more problems. Jason and the megaphone was pretty funny too: "Ocone! Lower your veapons und you vill be granted a quick death!"laughing:)

LoudThunder
05-05-2008, 08:49 PM
A quick note on why the Merc received the tank. 1 it was the only tank on the field. 2 I (and it was MY call on what to do with the tank and no one else’s!) I used the tank to even the sides up. As it was the Coalition had about 30+/- more people then the Mercs. This was the easiest way to even up the sides with out trying to find 17+ people to change sides.

As for the barrel tag issue. No you didnt need to ask for a surrender, the Surrender rule is if you are within 15-20 feet of the person and want to give them a chance otherwise, its the same as knifing someone. JUST dont jab (Or point) the barrel into someone just touch them with the side of the barrel (Safety first) either that or when close enough (within reach) call barrel tag and thats it. MY feelings on that is NEVER NEVER NEVER put your barrel in someone's side *business end first* Next time come up to the front table or have the ref call for a clarification. BUT if its not brought up to someone ALWAYS deffer to the ref on hand.

I still view an offer of surrender as a requirement for the player who has the other guy "dead-to-rights", and the victem is unaware of it. But a victem should still have the choice of whether or not he will take the surrender offered.

Personally, If someones good enough to get behind and close enough to me to have me "dead-to-rights" I take the surrender and compliment them on their move. Most of the time however what happens is a person asking for a surrender doesn't have me "locked-in" and I am well aware of their location ahead of time, so I take my chances and politely decline with my marker.

Being barrel-tagged or "knifed" on the other hand their is no choice for the victem, it is a straight elimination.

Regarding the comment on the Seal Team using PFD instead of the "floaties"...
Yes, the use of a PFD may be more logical choice, but #1 is more expensive, #2 would promote way too many ball bounces, #3 would allow the user to maintain WAYYYYY too much dignity. Lets face it, if we (Wild Bunch) can't play, we can at least make it entertaining to watch and ref!

I can't wait to see pics/ video of Elmo being held hostage, and of the Poindexter (Wild Bunch member and game NPC) being interrogated at the Coalition Base by Foster.

Yesterday was AWSOME!!!! Great reffing, story-line, field setup, and missions.

Stories

900-925ish
Coalition started at Warfare (I believe) and charged down to the Berlin Bridge. Jared/Komodo, Taylor, Ninja (or Jinx can’t remember), myself and about 6-7 other coalition took positions across of Berlin. After about 10min of trading paint I heard, ”they’re behind us!!” I went “oo shoot” sent 2 people to help the guys in our rear. Well needless to say I was the last one after the Merc figured out that they had us pinned so they made a rush I tried to hold them back (I repeat tried). When I finally decided it was pointless I made a dash for Amsterdam but got shoot out right as I was jumping down the hill. Kill count 4

1000-1020
I headed back Paris to get orders (radio down) and heard shots up on the ridge to my right (roughly north) so I decide to check it out. I walk straight threw and notice the mercs had Stasburg so I kept in the brush and moved up the hill. I saw Merc forces on the top of the hill pushing our forces in the valley so I went behind them. Before I moved in I made sure that no one was coming behind me so I went about 20yds behind them and started slinging paint at their back. On Lady player saw me and I shot about 20rds at her thinking that was enough. I put my focus on the rest of her group not noticing that she was still in before I knew it *BANG*BANG*BANG* I got it right in the chest. I was like,” There is no way you aren’t out!” she just replied,”You hit me in the leg but I guess it bounced” it must have because I didn’t see any splat on her so I heading back to base.
Well needless to say once I got back I noticed that we had some people hanging back from in the base so I ran up to Thalion saying, “Tim, Tim they have their buts wide open if you sent some people back there we can give them a little squeeze!” Tim said,” Okay, Jinx go with him.” So Jinx And I headed and walked/ran all the way behind them and pulled their attention away from up front. Apparently that helped our forces a little *umpf* and we eliminated the rest. Kill count 12

1030-1110
Thalion sent me out with Konona (I believe either them or Woodland) to take the Amsterdam bridge. We took that and headed up the tape line towards Warsaw. Once we captured Warsaw we traded paint with a couple of Mercs in Krakow but pretty soon we heard DT fire on the grass field. We pulled pack and dug in at Warsaw. Once we figured that the mercs had sent at least 20+ people to take Warsaw and at that point we only had 6-8 people, I called in for some kind of reinforcements figuring that the Mercs need that fort for something. We were to far into enemy territory to really get anyone over there in time. I got orders to hold it as long as possible which turned out not to long once they mad a rush for it. The remainder of us (4people) decided to pull back and cover the path. I went with them until I noticed that they weren’t following us so I stuck my self to the tape line and crawled/creeped back to Warsaw and noticed they weren’t watching the path very well so I determined to take a few with a rush. I ran out taking 2 “off the break” got about 3 more but and tried to slide into better cover but got hit right before that. Kill count 17

1115-1200
Our next mission was to hold Amsterdam Against the Mercs. About 30+ Coalition headed out to Amsterdam took it about 1125. At this point I was running low on air. We made push over the hill to the bridge but was repelled by the Mercs. I fell back to Amsterdam but at this point I ran out of air and could only shoot once if I cocked it and the paint didn’t have enough power behind it. So I sat in Amsterdam for a good 30min calling for reinforcements because all the coalition forces around Amsterdam weren’t moving to the hold the fort they were just shooting over me. About 1156 we got reinforcements and made a push to hold the fort (finally) but by then the mercs had too many forces to repel.
Eventually the Mercs got to the opposite side of the fort, mind you I am still in the fort with a none working gun. I peak around the corner and see 2 mercs looking up the hill where all the coalition are and I quick go back around the corner. I look back and there is one guy shooting up at some coalition and I get the idea that I could shoot him because my gun isn’t shooting all the fast. I cock my gun take a shot at him I miss right under him I went, “Aa **** now he knows I’m here” I head check again he didn’t even lower his gun so I shoot him in the gun and he was like, ”what the hack?!?” then I hear, “ hey whats with the blue flag?” I went that’s what their after so I go into the center of the base running out tagging the first guy yelling, “Barrel tag!” I go running out of the base barrel tag 2 others and get shoot right in the chest ending my run there but all I could say was, “That was sweet!” Kill count 20-22 lost exact count by then

1245-1300
Komodo and I figured we would check out what was happening at Berlin so I call in asking for intel on who owns it and get that Mercs do. Komodo and I go up to Berlin seeing that no one is looking he sticks his gun in the bottom “floor” of the tower saying, “Surrender” the guy in there freaked yelling, “Waa don’t shoot I surrender!!!” so Komodo points his gun at the guy up top and gives him the option he doesn’t reply and *BANG!!* he is out I go barrel tag the last guy. Right then the Merc forces across the bridge figure out that they lost Berlin and try to take it back I get shot out because my gun didn’t work at the right time. I stood and watched as Komodo held 6 guys off until 3 of ours came up and helped him till the horn. Kill count 22-24

best part of the day was when me and my buddy paul took berlin twice

first time there was about 5 of them shooting around berlin, me and Paul were up in Zurich (top of tower) and we were running out of paint and air so we just said what the heck lets bum rush (probably 50 yards of running) luckily they didnt notice, and we got first three out, including one very scared young lady that screamed(hahahaha sweet) for quite a while. also friend moving in from berlin bridge said he could hear the scream from a ways away lmao. but then the one on the left got us, but we got him also. and we got a good high 5 (yea) from one of the good ole yellow chums and we walked back to respawn. and then e-tac took berlin, and it was EMPTY! and they got all the glory( and MVP )....

2nd time almost same thing but we waited for them to leave berlin before we took it, and we figured we would get them when they fell back, which what do you know comes two yellows falling back. i promptly poke my head up (mind you i didnt lie about my team) and they fell for it, let them get off the bridge and i lit up the close one, conversation is as follows
Yellow 2- We are yellow you Dumbazz
Me- I think i noticed
Yellow2-****
me- but thx for reminding me again
proceded to shoot him and and got him
but then yellows were coming up from behind, 2 from strasburg got them out, 2 from vienna, got them out. and then all hell broke loose, the attacked in force from vienna, and from close to river, we were pinned down so i figured i would go out back and watch our A$$'Z. so i did,

Heard a ref yell player out looked around corner yellow guy with nade in hand and i told him that was close (because i thought he was out) but i guess not, so then i look back up and big bad shirtless double trouble guy just found some cover maybe 15 feet away needless to say i got lit UP! but i dont think one of them broke.....

Also i brought out a first time player out, and he was on the chopper to get the brief case, i guess he wasnt to scared of being hit..... lmao

so i walked out and never saw my Town again...

That was you? ha-ha-ha!!! I was the one that high 5'd you... I was laughing so hard at that girl that was screaming I didn't mind getting hit multiple times... I couldn't throw a hand up right away because I was laughing so hard! laughing:) She screamed like someone burst into the bathroom on her! So funny! A long sustained scream for like almost a full 15 seconds.

A thought from Rotter....

Wild Bunch you guys and gals truly out did yourselves this year.I can honestly say I have never had so much fun playing in my 11 years. The actual scenario it self was very challenging. Was I mad that my team lost, yes. Was I frustrated I didn't win MVP of course. Finally of course the drawings didn't quite go my way either but hey who cares.(All of previous re-marks are said with high levels of sarcasm.Internet LOLZ)My only remark was that there were one too many yelling matches between opposing players.A few of which I had the pleasure of being a part of.As already stated there is not much refs can do to stop this. The river was by far my favorite part of the entire game it made the entire field used at almost all times.Practically wherever you were on the field there was always a battle near.I say this every year.A great game and an amazing cause. Thanks for the great day Wild Bunch. Now I suppose it's back to my reffing dungeon until badgers game... :character0051:

I will Post my views later ,but
I have one thing to say.Damage INC. You guys rock!!!! the guy with the feather saw me in an embarassing position by the tippman tower.I face planted over a down tree and ended up with my feet in the air stuck in the tree. I heard him ask, "you alright man" I said, My prides hurt,LOL. anyways.to the young kid from damage Inc i was hiding with way behind enemy lines. I think his exact words were"good luck man,I'm Going knifing"then ,ZIPPP he was gone ....To that dude,I made it out alive after eliminating around 10 red.

what I'm trying to say is....I was the one starting the convo's about using Knives and thought it was to much. I stand Corrected. You guys rock!!!
Hey Ghostwolf....Did the lipstick come off your neck? HEHEHE

I know I ramble on.LOL

this was the first big event my squad had attended. we were having Radio Issue(mainly me) We desided to go in small groups. I was proud to say that every fire fight I walked up to, there was at leist one or two of my guys in it. Our grenade Launcher(LAW's) took out the tank three times..We may not have won MVT, but I went home proud of all my guys. we brought three guys from from Rochester with us that were considering joining the squad. the one guy out of the three that didn't have a gun.. Won the B5 from Identity Crisis... The cool prize didn't go to some rich kid that turned around and sold it on e-bay.

one very scared young lady that screamed(hahahaha sweet) for quite a while.

Was it like EEEEEEE EEEEEEE EEEEEEEE?
I was nearby & heard that. I thought someone had gotten hurt the way they were screaming. When I got there no one was down, but I'll admit I was concerned then.

I know most of you are more experienced than this, but dont ever scream bloody murder on the field unless you really are injured. The refs who are there watching out for you get nervous when this stuff happens.

I lost a toenail during this game! I forgot to trim down the toenail on my littlest toes, and one caught on my sock. My foot moves around in my slightly loose boots, so it got ripped out of its root during the game.

This morning it was just hanging on by a hangnail, so I ripped it the rest of the way off.

Thats golden MonDo!
Dont F with a man who just lost a toenail!

I just thought about one very funny moment at the end of the game. You would have to know Stapes or his reputation to truly appreciate it.

As we stood on the banks of the river, after a couple unsuccesfull attempts at getting to the island, we were getting ready for one more. Skog stops and points over the river and says "hey, is that Stapes coming around to knife them?". The funny part was that everyone squinted and said "really?".
Stapes is known for pulling that off, almost as well as he is known for being the nicest guy you will ever run into at ST. He is so nice to everyone that sometimes I come down on him for it, he NEVER just accepts his hard earned glory...always its "hey it was because that guy did this or that" "I got lucky" Etc.

So after the game I was packing up and getting ready to go and here comes Stapes with his hand extended as if to shake my hand. He says "Good job Foster..." Slaps me on the back and finishes "You blew it!"

Ahhh, with friends like that...

There were some hilariously annoyed people who really didn't like getting their badge checked after a long walk back to Paris. One guy was about to EXPLODE with Hulk-like RAGE when I delayed his Paris visit by two whole seconds.

We exposed him and he lost his rights as a spy. He got to play as a regular Merc soldier for the rest of the day.

No tickle torture, but we contemplated some other stuff (kidding)

We were looking for #075 because our intel source put that as the badge belonging to the spy.

I carried a law most of the day and also had some tank moments.

On top of the tower field, I and some others watched the tank drive by to get to berlin. It couldnt go down the path and the turret could not turn to shoot at us, so it had to back up. The drive opened the door and looked to back up when I remembered I had my paint grenade. We sat around and watched, as I asked the ref where he wanted me to hit the tank with the grenade. He wouldnt let me throw it in the tank :character0051: lol
End of story, tank gets disabled and a fellow player shots it point blank with a rocket. Good times. :)

After lunch I didn’t pay attention to exact times but I’ll ut in order.

Jinx, I and about 6 other coalition headed out to Vienna but when we noticed that they hadn’t covered the hill I and another player (I believe AKA). Well he and I headed up the hill. I heard the one Merc yell, “they’re heading up the hill! So I started moving faster and got up there first. AKA moved up the path and covered that. I took position on the right of the path and moved up a little. I decided I didn’t want to trade paint with those in the base (I only had 1/2case left for the day) so I started moving toward what I found out was Sicily. Well I noticed that I had another Coalition player following me so I made sure that he didn’t say anything. After a while I figured that we were out of the line of sight of those in Vienna so I sped up and got on to the path beside the towers field. When I made sure that they didn’t notice me I ran up and into the base and yelled, “Barrel Tag!!” and the guy was crotch when I pointed my marker at him and tagged him. He was so surprised that he fell over. Well I heard another player out in front of the base on the path heading to the right of the tower. I jumped out of the base and ran to tag the remaining player but tripped on a root or something did a tumble (missing that tag) I guess he didn’t notice my color so I jumped up seeing that he had fallen back to the base so I followed him up and barrel tagged him there. I stood there and noticed the other coalition player that had followed me he said, “sorry I did follow you I didn’t know how fast you wanted to go.” I said, “don’t worry about it.” This is where I had the barrel tag conv.

I had come back to tag in and Tim didn’t know what to tell me what to do at that time so I headed to Vienna. I noticed that Vienna was be held by Merc forces so I thought I could go the same way I did earlier. I went all the way around and made it to Sicily I hugged the tape line between the paths from Sicily and the parking lot/check-in. I saw that Zuric and Vienna was swarming with Merc forces so I radioed into Thalion saying, “XO this is Ranger, I’m right between Sicily and Zurich and I have visual on Merc forces in Zurich and Vienna. If you send a force of about 5-7 over to my position we could pull some of their attention.” Thalion called back saying, “ that’s not a priority hold your position.” About 10min later I was still there watching Merc Forces and 2 mercs literally walk 10ft away from my position and didn’t notice me. I radioed in that there were 2 mercs heading from Sicily to paris I noticed 7 more mercs were deciding what to do and they saw me and this is what I said to my XO, “This is ranger I believe I have been found out so this will be my last words.” And I turned my radio off, I stayed calm but I turned my gun on just for safety. When they kept looking at me I pointed to Sicily and they looked at me like, “is it clear?” I shook my head yes (I guess they thought I was some scared noob hiding in the bushes). When they moved around so they could see my front I covered my armband with my tank. I wasn’t going to shoot them because that would be totally suicide.
When they took defensive positions at Sicily I was like, “screw this, this is pointless.” I jumped out and ran to the back bunker on the tower field (the one made out of Railroad ties) I turned my Eggy on and started firing on merc positions that were open to me (they were all sitting ducks with the plywood in front of them not behind hehe) I must have taken out aobut 5 off the break and 3 more after they returned fire. I started taking fire from the bridge and I dropped behind the bunker and started firing on the guy at the bridge and emptied my hopper and filled up my hopper with my only pod and took out 2 more players and ran out of paint so I called myself out.

Escort General
Well we had babysitting duty on GhostWolf who we had to take to Berlin. The ref said we could only have a max of 10 players at Berlin when GhostWolf was there. The ref also said that we had to take the most direct route which meant up the tallest hill in splat tag. On the way Ghostwolf was so kind to ask one of the inattentive players this, “Hey what’s our radio?” and the player replied, “7”. So I was **** now that he just got out radio. Well once we got to Berlin we took up defensive position and I took up the forward on covering the bridge. Well needless to say I got shot approximately 10secs after I got there.

Supplies in Krakow
Well after coming back form my ordeal at Zurich I went to tag back in and was told to head out to Krakow and steal some supplies from there. Well I only had half a hopper so I wasn’t planning on going up front. Once we made it to the hill between Amsterdam, Warsaw and Krakow I wasted all my paint. I did meet a lovely player: Yeager (hope I spelled it right) well I didn’t call myself out but I moved back to yell at people (hehe). The last I saw of Yeager that day he was being swarmed by Merc forces but he never gave a foot. Well I stood around in front of Amsterdam Bridge and saw one on damage’s players with a LAW. When I walked by him he asked what we were dealing with and I said, “well they are pretty well dug in and even pushing forward, I would be doing something but I’m out of paint and useless.” I started walking away and that player said, “hey you’re not useless here(hands me his marker) I’ve got my LAW.” Well I got a few rounds off but I might as well been throwing the paint because I had never played with a flatline so I didn’t know how to compensate for the “dip” on the ball. I got hit about 2 min after he gave me his marker so I asked if he wanted but he said to put it down somewhere.

Medicine Viles
Well I had run out of paint by now so in my own words, “I’m just a walking body” we just got Intel that there where some kind of medicine bottles in Vienna that we couldn’t pick up so our brilliant General and XO figured out that we must have to get over to the merc side and find ours. When we got the mission papers this is what we had to do: get medicine capsules at Warsaw, Krakow, Budapest and another one. Well I volunteered to help as a runner because I didn’t have a gun. So we headed out to take Warsaw and Krakow. Once I and about 8 other coalition got to the final stretch of path to Warsaw we got stopped there. I kept radioing that we need more people to even think about taking Warsaw. Needless to say it was worthless we never go Warsaw before time. I do want to give those who kept coming back to help no matter how many times they were shot out. After I knew that this mission wasn’t going anywhere I went all the way back to Paris to pick my gear up. Once I got all my stuff I went out to the car and packed up most of my stuff and put my Hunt for the Cure shirt on and headed out to take pics.

If anyone sees a pic of a guy’s back wearing the “I’m the cure” t-shirt that would be me, I’m looking/taking pics of Zurich. I would like to get a hold of that pic.

Good times. :)

i remember that . It was in Zurick. It was Jamie (our sniper) that had the lAW he designed. he said someone was going to hit it with a grenade, but didn't, then he hit it with his LAW.

The Sentinels own that tank. That will be Serenity for my upcoming game. Our tank will be on the Alliance side. beret:)

Whos is that mini tank??

That's ours. It'll return for Serenity Valley, playing with the Browncoats (after we give it some improvements based off of lessons we learned from experience and field test).
