Cheaper doesnt always mean better the first run of these i saw the rubber was too soft and screwed up the timing which turned your cyclone into a nice little paint blender. If your gonna go the soft paddle route stick with the proven ones from Tech T

I got the second gen ones from tech T and tested them out around 20bps, the bottom paddle doesn't grip the cyclone spindle well at all and gets thrown out of alignment very easily, in other words it's loose. I did this with them screwed on as tight as humanly possible and using the Vortex mod. Maybe they grip the stock cyclone spindle better, but when they designed these they should have done a rigid mold in place insert that fit the spindle. The material it is molded out of has too much give even with a tight tolerance. That or they just can't handle 20pbs, in which case what's the point?

I like all the Tech T cyclone mods I have all of them but the soft paddles in my doubles and they have worked flawlessly so far. If you are gonna up grade i suggest picking up a X-7 cyclone to start and upgrade that instead of using the regular A-5 cyclone because the X-7 cyclone already has the tube vents for improved preformance. I have a extra X-7 cyclone here i can bring to Splat Tag for you to take a look at if you wish

I usually wait for products to have been out a while before laying judgment or investing in one.
Check out www.pbreview.com and see if they have any reviews.

I can guarantee that if you cyclone is working fine, that the squishy paddles will help.

I had a bad experience with'em, but that's just what's happend with my setup, PB review would be good to check out. I might writh Tech-T and see what the deal is...
Tech T has superb paddles. They had issues with thier first batch of paddles. It the screw that the paddle goes into would just spin and the paddle would not rotate. The new batch is fixed. On the A5og forum. Everyone loves them. A few straglers out there who don't care for them but if your not using e-trigger or response, they aren't really worth the upgrade.

The WARGEAR paddles are poorly designed. If you see a picture of them, you can see they still have the very defined edges, where as the Tech-t paddles are rounded and completely smoothed out, which is one of the main reasons balls dont break from the squishy paddles. Also, Tech-t did it first =P

So they dont even spin??
PFCLEE11B
06-03-2008, 08:02 PM
oh it will spin..... kinda i will go to shoot it (not single shot relatively fast) and i get about 6-8 shots off then nothing i have to take the hopper off then pull the hammer back and push the paintball that is either broken or stuck inbetween the chamber and the cyclone. i then clear it by shooting out what was stuck reapply hopper and then restart all over again.

I got squishy paddles for my X7, and I've got the TechT vortex mod on the way. This was a response to my cyclone troubles at the Viper game a few weeks back.
So far, backyard tests with the squishy paddles have been successful.

ok here is the problem the screw that is on top that holds the paddle down after shooting a couple times gets loose and allows the paddles to wiggle around. How do i stop this?

Try the locktite and a washer between the screw and the paddles, but I had the same problem and gave up on it, they're too squishy I think (need a molded insert). You'd probably be better off using some 200-300 grit sandpaper and steel wool and smoothing down your stock paddles if anything.
PFCLEE11B
06-04-2008, 05:15 PM
Well i am already using the washer, maybe locktite will work.

maybe you should get the vortex mod, the stock one might be stripped.

well the guy i bought the gun from says that it has the vortex already installed

You could try it on the stock spindle, but that's a lot of effort to go through and honestly you're better off with the vortex spindle than squishy paddles with a stock spindle.

06-05-2008, 04:51 PM
take it apart, im pretty sure its something else and not the paddles. is you put the stock ones on does it spin?
PFCLEE11B
06-05-2008, 08:06 PM
well it is not a matter of spinning it always spins it is the fact that it wont shoot 6-8 balls then all i hear is the solenoid clicking (APE board) I then open the hopper to inspect and there is either a ball jammed or there is a broken ball. I ordered the new paddles so they should be here by saturday if not then i will take it to the TIPPMANN guys @ DDAY and have them just fix it for me. Even if they have to downgrade it.

It may be spinning the paddles some, but not in full cycles. Take off the hopper and watch the paddles as you fire to see if they cycle. Then put a few balls in the cyclone and test fire, wear a MASK!. It's very possible the spindle is spinning inside the paddles some, which is the same problem I had.
This might sound dumb, but make sure you have them in right-side-up.
