Splat Tag is building up!
*NEW* A totally new urban course is being build next week. We will be adding new structures to it all summer long.
Plus the Tower course is once again being reinvented. Both main base walls have been built up and new structures will be adding throughout the summer.
*NEW* A mock boat landing course is being built.
*NEW* Once we receive the layout for the SPPL fields we will start on them.
Many improvements will be showing up each week on a number of courses.
We will keep you updating as things go up.
The Biggest just keep getting better. Thats why over 8,000 people played at Splat Tag last year.

If anyone would like to volunteer to help clean up and help build up bases at Splat Tag, we are looking for help with moving hundreds of sandbags and railroad ties.
Plus people to bring chainsaws and cut up deadtrees and move them for bunkers.
Volunteers will be reworded will free entries and paint. barmy:)
Teams can also build bases and get them name after them for GBGXIV.
May even have pizza pizza:)

I'm in, effective as soon as I have the information when.
The Sentinels as a whole will be available after the Hunt for the Cure to help build up for the GBG.

We are out there a few times a week. Most work is done Mon-Fri.
Refs needed for this Saturday and Sunday.

I believe you mean directly after (aka same day) if so I'm in. I don't know about any more times volunteering becuase I'm pretty much "grounded". (meaning can't drive not grounded as not allowed to do stuff)

Nah, only some of it. I don't think there's any way all the great ideas will be finished by then.
Can i ask where the "mock" boat landing is?
If I were to wager a guess, it'll be near the Maze field. In the open grass, I saw a lot of what looked like the beginnings of a beachead.
Of course, I have no idea for sure.

You know, it kind of amuses me, but for all the times I have been to Splat Tag, I still have no idea which one is the "maze" field ><

It's the course towards the southern part of the property that has the Warfare base in it.
Pretty much the boundary is from the grassfield/treeline boundary up to the other side of Warfare base / from the staging area (right side of the rightmost path) to the back, back tapeline.
That's a pretty rough idea of it, but that's the course.

Its the field that you say,"hi you can see me but you can't shoot me becuase of the brush." I do like that field but I can't think of where you could put a "boat landing" in there.
i think thalion means that there seems to be some construction going on in the valley that is immediately infront of that course in relationship to the parking lot

Yea, wasnt there a few paths coming out of that area last year? That area could easily be made into a beachhead style area.
when i was up there today unless i was hallucinating (possible considering how much sun there was) it also looked like there was a decent sized fort built back in that area
The boat landing field #1: If you standing in the parking lot looking toward the registration building will be in the open valley to the left. Over by the back end of field #2.
The second boat landing field #2 that is temporary and just for the April 27 Jungle Rumble games. Will be on the Tower field. :eek: Some of the Germans will off past the tower, a little on Giant and Valley.
Operation B**ch Slap will have 2 games on boat landing field #1 and 2 games on boat landing #2 from there the Allies will push inland with Tanks and will play a regular course.
I and told that the New Urban field will be done by April 27 but will be small for a Jungle Rumble. May se if we can do a Ironman Game on it. :rolleyes: The battle for Berlin.

This stinks that can't get out there. I will hopefully make up for it at GBG.
I will in advance tip my hat (i don't usually wear one but you get the point) to all players that volenteered for this and I will enjoy benefitting from the fruits of their labors.
I should be out there Wed from Noon to 4pm but the Gate will be lock. If anyone wants to come out and help, call me first.

This is awesome, glad to see it happening. Wish I could help out, but with all my house re-modeling i'm short on time these days. But I did find a sweet place to get majorly cheap building materials over near where I work, Building Materials Outlet.

So if you guys are looking for plywood, fencing, posts, doors, field junk, whatever then check it out. You never know what they're gonna have because it comes in from contractors, overstock, returns and stuff. I got 200 linear ft of 4" hardwood crown molding for $100! They've got wierd hours though and weekends are auction days.
When I get my kitchen done i'd like to help you guys out.

:) Nice, yeah this is great to see that people are really taking time to help out and it really shows how much they care to be able to play out at ST. well considering i've got school during the week, i can try to make it out on one of these weekends. but i am a little ways away so if i can swing a ride from a friend i'll be there. good job everyone who has helped out so far. it's awesome that you all are doing that.:)
i played the urban field today and the boat landings i must say they are bad *** and u guys should check them out if u havnt seen em:cool:

The map isn't necessarily to scale.
Further, it is always possible to expand upon it (I know I'd volunteer to help with that work).
I'd wait and see the field before I determine its size.

I will state a "offical" report/my own opinion on all new fields. (man I sound political, I guess it has something to do with last day of student senate and I opligize (I can flipping spell)for those who hate politicians)
Yes the Urban field is very small. Very small. And yes we may make it a little bigger over time but all of my private group love it.

Sounds good, looks roughly the size of the tower course by that map. In that case, should be great fun.
I'm looking forward to trying it at a walk-on game soon.

look at the map better its the speed ball feild.its next to the parking lot. its still awsome. i have already seen some crazy stuff go down on that feild. all i can say is be on your toes.

yeah i seen private group play it last weekend and they were bunkering each other kinda crazy to watch

Is the Urban Field going to have 2 story buildings too or is that against some kind of code/law?
* This Urban Course will not have any two story building. We do not want anyone shooting up or at a high angle. This Urban course is to close to the parking area. It's made for private groups and pick up games. This course will be bigger by June. May not all be urban. :)
* "The Gauntlet Course" We have been working on a few paths to and through the "Giant Course #2" area. I am going to rename this course the "The Gauntlet"
I wanted to get this area built up last year but once the leafs come out I gave up. This area was first used at last Junes Giant Big Game XII and will be used again for the June 7 Giant Big Game XIV and some of this area will be used for Badgers Battle of Serenity Valley game July 20.
We have almost a mile of paths to do for the June Giant Big Game. 300a:)
The Giant Big Game playing area is four times bigger then the playing area of any of our other games at Splat Tag.
* "Tower Course" will be getting some urban building, still not sure how far we will be going with this. deshelmet:)

80+ player came out to a regular Splat Tag Open Games/Walk-ons today.
A lot of fun. I got to play both the DDAY Landing Field and the Urban Course.
Can't wait for tomorrow :) We get to do it all over again.

Nice tower, can't say I'll like its location very well. Oh its a good location don't get me wrong, but it sure will make crossing the valley difficult without dropping into it and climbing out of it.:character0051:

EDIT: So far, it's not looking that great for me showing up. I've got a long to-do list before this weekend. I may have to catch up at the Memorial Day game after I return.

In the middle of adding lights to a few fields:
Both sides of The Tower Field, Both sides on the Valley Field, one side of Top of the Hill Field and the Urban Field.
Fields will be lighted for the Friday Night Game (Sept. 19) before the Resident Evil Giant Game.
New Tower Building going up in the midle of the Tower Field. Should be cool with all layout.
