Want a new pump, but what?

here's the deal. I currently use an sl-68II and it's great but I want to get another pump. I really would like some insight from you pump players out there on what to get. something with a price range $400-less. :)

If your not so concerned about running stock class, and just want a good accurate pump, you can always build yourself a Sniper. Older Autococker bodies are fairly plentiful, all you need to do is remove the pneumatics off the front block and replace it w/ a pump kit. Stick w/ a 2K or later body though as the pre-2K pump kits are harder to find. I made one from a 2001 RF body for less than $60.00, and the pump was the most expensive part.
Its just as accurate as any pumpgun out there, although it is a little heavier.

$400 is a nice budget, most of these "I want a pump" threads are all "$50 MAX".

Being that you are willing to spend a good chunk of change, I suggest a test drive. The best place would be SplatTags pump games, even 10 minutes at the chrono can tell you a lot about what you like.

4 bills will get you damn near anything from a fully decked out Phantom package, to crazy over the top sniper, to a base model Palmers, etc.
Try to eliminate things you DONT want before you try to figure out what you DO want.

FEED- Do you need a hopper? Do you lust for a tube feed? (Rock forward/Rock back/Springfrrd?) Do you want to be able to switch between the two?

AIR- Do you want to use a tank? Bottom line? ASA out the back of the valve? Do you want a 12 gram only gun? Do you want multiple options to switch air type & location?

SIZE- Is it a selling point? Light, tight and mobile? Steady, lengthy & solid?

FEATURES- Barrel length, ability to change barrels, use of insert barrels, aftermarket grips, Low pressure/High volume valves, ability to use sights, on and on.

:eek:Oh get over it carl. maybe you should stop caring about your fricken saturn so damn much. Honestly, do something a little more productive at home instead of whining about the past. :character0051: Get A GIRLFRIEND or become more close with your mom so you atleast have something else to care about. Who knows, maybe they'll care for you back. Does your saturn care about you? NO! I don't think so. I mean honestly, I have apologized at least 30X. It was an absolute accident. Think about it, in about 5-6 months you can have your sweet payback on my car/truck. Save your grief and revenge for then. :)

Now Foster, I'll have to see about the pump game on sunday, hopefully I'll get the cash together and I won't be too banged up from wrestling saturday. I bet I can get someone to go from my club. I just noticed you are far far away from ST, we do some wednesday night pump games at NorthSide during the summer...Maybe that is an option.

OK well IDK if any of you guys have seen mine, but Darrin even likes it. It's A silver lightning that i turned pump. it cost 200 dollars to make it run. then after that you up grade what you need.


*Auto cocker $90
*pumps are like 30-40 for a decent one, i went all out and got the one with everything that i like witch was ninety.
*lightnings don't come with regulators so i got a Custom products from CC for $90 i think but any really works as long as its consistant.
*then your stance, witch is how you hold it. do you want a bottle or 12 gram as you can do both. with 12 grams theres kinda a lot of tuning so you get the most out of a 12 gram. And what kind of a hopper do you want.

this atleast all goes with auto cocker stuff, I know you had the Sl68 witch is an amazing gun. I wouldnt get rid of it!!!! With auto cockers theres alot of tuning pump or not, you kinda need to know a little but hey there so many places you can get help with it.

Have you looked at what you like best or what your willing on doing with the gun?

Anything "Sniper" (Cocker) based is the way to go for me.

I have been shooting a Bud Orr (WGP) Snipper II for 17 years now.

I think the closed bolt design gives this type of a gun more distance and better accuracy.

CCM has taken the disign to even greater hights. CCM 6 is my main Pump Gun now.

Pumping for 22 years! :)

April 20 is Pump Games at Splat Tag. Or this Saturday you can use a pump in our $5 Big Game. :)

well to start i wasn't mad at carlito. i did hear somepeople at the game say that they thought that i was off the wall mad. I wasn't. I kinda wanted it to come across like it but i was just joking around.:)

The sniper was great. I loved it and really seemed to enjoy playing with it. I think that it is going to be what i go for. But im not final yet...
