So we play, I suck. The RTP Viper is different in my broken hands and I need to adjust to it. So I play with the trusty Typhoon and a 140 rd old school hopper.

cut to the chase
me and some guys with a-5, cockers and stuff are in the field that is full of brush. It is so thick that you can see ppl but you cannot hit them without cutting a path. I am closer to the road in this jungle field.
The opposition feels pretty week so I went to the front and used up my rounds. I put some stress on a couple of guys. When the balls got close they moved to a new area of brush. My "associates" with A-5 flatlines can put a ball exactly where these guys are standing. And they do.
Needless to say a hole opens up big enough for me to recognize. I get the nerve to try it. I ran through.
Now for an inventory: I think my hopper was empty then so I had 0 balls & a knife. Behind enemy lines with a really cool marker--typhoon. Cool.
I got a little more luck in that while i was running 1 guy fired on me but then gave up as I ran through. He did not pursue. The thick brush makes it easy for me to get through and really hard for him to get a shot that will make it.
After about 30-40 yds the thicket opens into a small clearing. To my left about 50 ft away I see some blue arm bands and take off running directly at the closest one. While I am running to the closest I planned out all the rest. by threat & distance.
1 - cool guy-- I said "your out". He left. I expected to get shot in the back for not saying "barrel tag", but he was cool.
2 - I remember barrel tag. he left.
3 Knife over the right shoulder. I call "barrel tag" and start on the 4th. #3 guy calls "OOUUUT")
4 - As i am racing for the 4th, I am swearing under breath at the 3rd guy--(maybe I could have gotten a few more if not for YOUR stupid move.)
I reach the 4th guy and he shoots as I gently slash. I ask what he wants to do, suggesting a simo. (I think it really was a true simo, but you will need to get his opinion.)
Now i am pissed. There were still a few more guys up the line that I know I could have had a sporting chance to knife out.
I yelled, "Ref please talk to that guy-- he talked after i knifed him!"

The refs were not as fast as I was so I went to THE guy the talked LOUDLY after I knifed him. I told him that is impolite. I really worked on this and you are minimizing it. His counter was that I was going to get his whole team. I repiled, "yep, I think I could have gotten a few more. WAIT who am i talking to. Craig is that you?
Yep.
a cordial, but not happy Craig Palmer. I teased him a bit saying that if these guns would shoot better, I wouldn't have to use a knife. But the point was I was carrying a Palmer Typhoon.

Now you must see a future predicition: http://www.farmlandpaintballclub.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=880

Overall Craig is a really cool guy. Later he lent me a part to continue using my typhoon gun for free--this a rare event.
Alan ??? was there as #1 guy out. He was really cool.
Well that is about all i remember that i can write. 4 knifings. including 1 living legend and a few of his team.
I felt very honored and thought it was kinda funny that he was annoyed about it for the rest of the day. Craig did not hear the rule about not talking and apologized later to me--he really is a cool guy.

yes he is phenominal with a knife. but he is equally phenominal with any other marker he uses. what's funny is that he is passing his knifing ways on to his kid. and HE is also pretty dam good with one. all in all he and his kid are both great players. :)

Yeah you always have to be on the lookout for Stapes or any of the Farland/Damage guys they can come from out of nowhere

Good job Stapes. I was excited for you when you told me first hand in the parking lot tha you knifed palmer. I can't believe you were able to get close to him w/ such craziness that day. Good deal!

He was in the same 24 hr scenario at CPX "Living Legends" last 4/5-4/6. And yes, I wish I could've capture it w/ my vidcam.

I just wanted to make this clear. Splat Tag and many field do not allow players to use paintball knives or limit their use.

Less then a doz players are aloud to to use them at my field. And that will not be changing any time soon.

99% of the paintballers out there would not be able to use a "paintball knife" effectively anyway, or would use it improperly. However when employed by that other 1%, it is a great way of quietly making some eliminations (provided your victim is honorable about it and doesn't alert his teammates) and displays their paintball prowness at the same time.

As I understand it, Farmland/Damage Inc. does not / will not provide knives to non-team members. Each knife is custom made by one of their members, and is presented to members as a rite of passage once they are "deemed worthy". The knife is then presented to the receiving team member at a ultra secret ceremony, fabled to involve: two strippers, a riding crop, a banana-split sunday, a black leather jock-strap, an adult male goat, a tube of red lipstick, and 3 pounds of sushi in a unspecified gas station restroom... At least thats what I heard. You know how rumors go.

Anyway, I think its a good idea that Darrin doesn't let just anyone use a paintball knife, and the skilled handful that are allowed, I know won't abuse the privilage.

yeah i hate to say it but i bet that some people would take the whole knifing people the wrong way. they wouldn't "knife" someone correctly. they might go out there and think that they can shink someone. tongue:) or even try to throw the knife and get someone out. stapes and other farmlanders or even any other person who is allowed to knife do it in a very safe and specific way. they would never even come close to hurting someone when they do it. if just anyone was allowed to "knife" people i can see players getting hurt just because it gets taken too far.:)

Damage does not sell or give knives to non-Damage members, i believe there may be a few clones out there however.

Which is why non-Damage members authorized to have a knife at Splat Tag (like me) choose to use something that is clearly different from the Damage knives. We don't want to steal from the original.
