Ok let give it a try.

If any team wants a private forum on here post up.

If post get out of hand and it goes inactive to long we may deleted it.

Captains Post if your team wants one.

If your team has their own web site and message board I do not think you need one here. Let me know.

All forums will still be moderated.

I thought the idea of this forum was not to section teams and have everyone together.

I agree with jimy, I thought this forum was to promote MN paintball not provide individual teams with a free message board.

I agree with both previous posts.

I would venture to guess that most teams have their own private forums, or could easily get one free else where. I think what would be cool is to find a way to figure out how to make a way so that teams could post up schedules, or something along those lines, so we could find out what teams will be where and when sort of thing.

Just my input :)

...teams could post up schedules, or something along those lines,...

This could easily be set up as a thread. (i did attempt a thread along these lines but it was more geared towards individuals)

Several do have their schedules posted on their own sites, but it probably would not hurt to have everyones posted up here either.

As far as the secure team forum idea Darrin offered...
I don't have a problem w/ it. Most teams already have their own sites/forums but some upstart teams may not have the time/cash/or technical expertise to run their own site. Also a lot of team forums are seeing heavy increases in spam/ads/porn and bot traffic, and are having trouble keeping up w/ deleting all of it. Some teams may not want the bother, others may just not know how. Regardless, offering them a site to organize their activites doesn't take away anything from the rest of us here.

very true Delta, it doesn't take away from the rest of us. my thought is what if we had a way to, for lack of a better term, "opt" into games kinda like on the Spec ops forum. then would be really easy to see who is coming from which team. could maybe tagged onto the event calendar somehow. a techie would have to figure that out though, I'm not the person to do it. i have a hard enough time typing these posts.

I'm not a techy but the Google Calendars are pretty great.

I have ours on our website (embedded in the HTML code... pretty cool). If you "share" your calendar with others you can actually have everyones' schedule on your own Google Calendar.

Two things.

1) This is not my idea but if you look at Forum Questions and Suggestions I had a few people ask for this.

2) Does anyone read the forum features?

Players can opt in to any event on the calendar! Plus when you look at someone Profile you will see what events they have opt in on.

Check out this event!

And my Profile!

I would like to know why I am spending hundreds of dollars a year for this forum program if no one is using it. :character0051: ;) :character00128:

well having a private team thread is just really a good way to communicate with team members rather than posting over and over in a regular thread and teams can also easly contact other teams to set up games and practices so yes, my most gracious host the raptors would like to have a team section,

I'm a member of the Badger Brigades, and we do make use of individual team threads, which I do make use of. But in our quest to add more and more teams, it does make for some 'dead' teams/threads. If you do go that route, I would recommend implementing a system where you verify that a team is in fact established, or pretty soon every joe blow is going to have his own team thread, but not necessarily a team.

I'm a big advocate of keeping things simple...and I do like what I see on this forum. Maybe Minnesota isn't as backwards as the Vikings would have me believe...laughing:)
