I have to admit that I am a big Tippmann fan and thought I always would be but after seeing this new Halo Hopper and some of the new mods for the BT line of guns. I think I am re-thinking my stand.

Ben Tippmann (BT) Help design and worked on most Tippmann products until Tippmann sold a few years back. Ben Tippmann left and started his own company after that. "BT Paintball"

BT Paintball had Halo come up with a Hopper for their gun. Or should I say a Halo drive, you can put any A-5 style hopper on it.

This drive is sound activated. Which is technology invented and patiented by a Minnesota Paintballer Joel Anderson past MN Terminator.

Sell for around $80 or comes with some 2008 BT guns.
This will not work on a Tippmann A-5

The new Halo clips on and off for easy cleaning. Can shoot 25bps.

The BT Hopper has a bigger lid and players can replace the lid with a Speedfeed for faster loading.

This is a must see for any Woodsball players. I will be trying one over the 2008 paintball season.

So they only make these for BT and not for Tippmanns. What a bummer.

Ben Tippmann -- what Tippmann could have become.

Ben Tippmann, unhappy with where Tippmann was going, has continued the innovation. The BT-4 is like the 98 custom, but sigificantly improved. The foregrip is adjustable for different players, it can be field stripped and/or cleaned without disassembling the clamshell design, and it takes a5 threaded barrels. Then there's the Apex barrel, a significant improvement over the flatline.

Now the "rip clip" -- this loader.

So, Tippmann has moved towards the "bolt-on milsim mod" guys, while BT has moved towards improving the single tube blowback design and other designs.

Too bad it will probably be a very long time until BT achieves the popularity that Tippmann already has.

Uses a 9v battery in the grip and 4AA in the Halo hopper.

Not a big fan of batteries. I really like a gun I can just pick up and go.

But so far it looks like a great gun for the money.

I still have not used it, so far I am still going to stay with my A-5.

But I will let everyone know what I deside after I use it. :)

What kind of "clip-on" does it use becuase the words "clip on" and paintball doesn't bode well with me.

I believe it is similar to the Tippmann and BT means of sliding the feedneck off.

That part wouldn't worry me... unless that sibling of mine touched it (if you don't get it, ask anyone who was at the Hunt for the Cure and it'll mak sense)

I wasn't there but I'm pretty sure I know what you're talking about. I'm unfamiliar with tippmanns and BTs so I have no idea of what you guys are talking about on that part.

Lol yeah, we stood for long periods of time looking at some of the jerseys along the wall.... and no it didn't have anything to do with the fact they were right in front of the air conditioner....
