I am not big on scenario games or scenario gear for that matter, but this little sucker is pretty cool in my book. Last year at the HFTC game was the 1st time that my "game map" was ever used, I tend to put them in my pocket & by the time I think to use it...It is all wet, crumpled & worthless. I know that many of you have vests with special holders that hold ID cards and maps, My bet is that many more do not. At HFTC I put my map in a little scrap of plastic from a bag of paintballs, and duct taped it to my arm.
Ghetto?
Yes.
Practical?
I think so.

After watching football & seeing that QB's have something like what I used, I went to sports authority and spent $15 on this (In black).

It is pretty cool.
The top window has room for a field map, or whatever you want (codes, etc.)
Lift the flap (velcro) and you have a 2nd window under it for more stuff (ID card, cash, car key, etc.) And lastly the reverse side of the top window is also clear giving you a total of 3, water resistant, clear windows to look at stuff through.

Not trying to shoot down the ref thing but as a ref of 6+ years i wouldnt wear one.it would be just one more thing that is going to annoy me.a refs daily gear can be cumbersome enough(radio, camelback, map, handheld chrono, various personal effects.)for newer refs who are not familar with the fields it could be handy.just put a map in it.i was thinking that would be a must for any major character in a larger scenario game .like for those familar with splat tag if i say far base on the giant field you probably know where im talking about.however if we are in a scenario that base could be called literally anything to stay on track with the scenario.as a matter of fact i believe i will take one of those for my role as one of the hands of blue in BSV.good find.o ya and they are a must for any squad/team leader or general.

I'm not trying to dis any refs but like you said it would help newer refs. From my experience of reffing Esident Evil game I think a little thing like this would have helped some refs.
