This is the only picture I took at this game.
Second player from left (Evil Shirt) is Peter, one of my cousins fom New Zealand. I am the big fat guy to theright of him.
One in from the right is Phil, I found him on line and he set up the game. The rest of the players are friends of Phil are know him from the internet.
We played on a friend of Phil farmland. We had to cross a small river to get to the playing field.
Some of the trees here over 150-200 years old.
E-trigers are not legal in New Zealand.
Paintballs are .06 to .12 each and $9.00 it fill a C02 20oz bottle.
I paid $500 for a Tippmann A-5 with Response trigger.
I will be deepsea fishing this weekend if the weather stays good.

Gotta love it. How many other teams can say that they have had team members play outside of their home country (Canada and Texas doesnt count):party0003:

Played again Sunday, March 2 from 1pm to 3pm.
New field - Paid $20 Entry with free C02 and $30 for 200 paintballs.
Sorry I did not get a picture.
I hope you did'nt have to pawn off your camera to play for two hours, shoot up 200 paintballs with your new $500 Tippy. I bet that response trigg comes in handy. You still have your Ticket home don't you?:D/AKA

March 16, 2008 I played a 3 different locations. One place I paid $400 for a case of paintballs.
My last Sunday in New Zealand I made the most of it.
Started the day going to Top Gun paintball at 9:30am. First time playing there. 60 players, over half were first time players using rental guns. I players with 3 family members and had a great time. Nice set up with small scenarios.
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a82/AssaultKorps/Darrin%20Big%20Sunday/2008_0316photosgroup0172.jpg
1pm we drove about a mile way to Ultimate Game and met up with 3 more of my family for a total of 6 plus me. Entry was $20 with a rental gun and 50 paintballs. Extra Paint was $10 per 50 paintablls, I bought a case for all of us at $400.00 for all of us to split. At check-in a Ref/tournament player that thinks his is the best thing ever (you know the type) came to our group and said he wanted to shoot the American looking at me. As he left he said he love to shoot people more then once and even a 100 times.
Once we all gear up we went out side to a speedball course made out of tiers. That same player was playing with a group of all first time players from Japan all with rental guns. He was using a Timmy and had a player out of the game coaching him to light up all these new players (very sad)
Our group went off and played in the woods for a few games. Then a few regulars came over and join in. 2 on each regulars join each teams. The ref/tournament player and his friend joined the other team and has only out to get me :) Well I Made sure he found me, twice I shot he :) I never got hit at the Ultimate Game :)
The picture below shows the two players that played on my team (not the ref/tournament player) Great guys. And 6 of my family and I.
http://www.darrinjohnson.com/images/nz/2008_new_zealand%20268.jpg
3:15pm my cousin Peter and I went out to a private land game (the same game I first played when I got there)
Great bunch of players, all stand up players. I wish every game was with these guys and I with my family could have played but this was a bring your own everything game and they do not have guns or anything else.

Well it's time to head back to Minnesota, my home :)
It is 8:30am here and in 12 hours I will be one the airplane home.
I have had a great time visiting my family. I don't get see them much. Over the last 34 years I have only bin around them for a total of 6 months. 6 one month trips. My New Zealand mother had 2 brothers and 5 sisters so I have a very big family over here. A few months back my Grandfather died, he was 100 years old. I hope I have his gens :) Oh ya and 20 cousins. Ages from 7 to 44 years old. A lot of them have kids now so out of the 3 million people that live in New Zealand I think half are my family :)
In total the flight home take bout 24 hours.
It's time to come home and get ready for the start of the 2008 paintball season in the US. :)

a great trip
