I really need to switch from CO2, but I don't know hardly anything about HPA tanks. The only thing I really know is that carbon fiber is lighter that aluminum. So can you guys help me out???help:)

there nothing special that you need to know. Buy a tank air it up and put it on your gun. Thats it. Every gun will work with hpa, they actually work much better with hpa. If you are using a tippmann or spyder you just need to make sure that you do NOT get a low pressure output tank. You want 850psi or so for your tank outlet pressure.

Basic air tank information, with pros and cons:
Question 1 - Metal or Carbon Fiber?
Metal HPA tanks are heavy and almost always 3000 psi (see question 2). On the plus side, they're far cheaper than an equivalent carbon fiber tank.
Question 2 - 3000 or 4500 psi?
3000 psi tanks can only fill up to 3000 psi. It's the interior pressure of the tank. 3000 psi tanks are cheaper than 4500 psi tanks of equivalent size, but they won't hold as many "shots" (the formula for 3000 psi tanks is 10 * the cubic inch number = total number of shots per fill, roughly. For example, a 68ci 3000psi tank holds around 680 shots)
4500 psi tanks can fill to 3000 or 4500. Again, 4500 refers to the interior pressure. 4500 psi tanks are more expensive than their 3000 psi counterparts, but they contain more "shots" per cubic inch (formula for 4500 psi tanks is 15 * the cubic inch number = total. For example, a 70ci 4500psi holds about 1050 shots).
Question 3 - What size in cubic inch?
You're going to want a medium size in cubic inch if you play air-on-gun. If you're running remote, this matters less. Generally, bigger cubic inch tanks cost more and hold more shots.
I'd recommend one of the following, depending on how much you shoot:
-68/3000 (least number of shots, but cheap)
-72/3000 (heavy and cheap)
-70/4500 (these hold best bang for your buck without being too large for air on-gun)
-88/4500 (for using a remote line + shooting a lot)
As far as brands go, some of the best are Pure Energy and Crossfire. Nitro Duck is nice too, but hard to come by.

Im sure your rolling with a tippman or something of that sorts. You would need a high pressure (4500 Carbon Fiber) to run that. I would honestly just go with a high pressure because it can basically work with any marker. Low pressure is for top end guns. I have and Ego and I run High on it so yeah.
For a brand, I would consider Cross Fire . They make stuff for the military I believe its in the area of tanks of some sort. Anyways they have great products and a terrific customer support line. Everyone on my team for their main tank is a crossfire. I have had mine for almost five years woth no issues what so ever. I am going to buy a stubby 72/4500 and a 68/4500 before we get the season started. My exp with other tanks is not as good. I remember the old owner of FSL would only carry Crossfire because of their customer service.
They are pretty dang cheap on ActionVillage right now. When I bought my HpA I spent almost 3 hundo on it. But I got free refills for life with it. LOL to bad the place when out of business. I know Vince at north$ide would order something for you if you cant buy anything online. He usually matches online prices. Usually.

Thalion covered it so did the rest. Also please avoid brass eagle thats my only new advice and marker brands: spyder, tippmann, etc. (in my own opinion) If you can go to a close paintball shop that carries tanks and see how they weigh and how they fit on your marker.
i have a 45ci/4500psi crossfire carbon fiber tank its a really nice tank played with it for about a year and had no problems with it i have had a pure energy 45ci (ithink)/ 3000psi aswell but it was really heavy so i wouldnt recomend it.

The only thing that Brass eagle makes well is the saber twin turbo marker. what other company makes a marker that comes with 50! paintballs, (2) twelve grams and a "working" marker?
Heck even I shot someone with it!
Not quite so sure Id trust BE air tanks though...............

CP Regs are pretty decent too, I got a decent deal on one at St.Croix last fall, but it's all been pretty much said in this thread.

I just invested in a Pure Energy 68/4500 carbon fiber and it is BEAUTIFUL! It's so light. I'm pumped to use it this season.
