Frostbuster game scheduled for March 16,2008. will be holding this at the same place as last year, Mountain Park, Mountain Lake, MN. If you need directions contact me. hopefully we won't have the snow like we've had the last 2 yrs.( 15" in '06, 17" in '07).games will start at 1pm. arrive around noon, to chrono and get ready to play. we will play a variety of games, CTF, total elim., take the hill, etc. we also may be starting a new thing this year for regulars, or anyone who wants to participate. the "Talon Challenge" (go ahead start laughing) we are gonna have 2 BE talons, and it will be a challenge based event, meaning, you challenge whoever you think you can beat. each player will be given a talon, 2 12g and you supply your own 40 balls. this is something to just up the level of competitiveness in the area and level the playing field for less experienced/fortunate players, who may not have the level of experience or the equipment to compete. Everyone is welcome, it's a BYOE(Bring your own everything) this is basically an outlaw game. nearest HPA fills are an hr away.all standard rules of Safety apply.

Directions from the TC area: take 169/60 south towards Mankato. just south of Mankato 169 and 60 split. STAY on 60 headed towards Lake Crystal and Madelia( Tim that's for youtongue:)). STAY on 60, go past LC, Madelia, St. James and Butterfield. approx 4-5 miles west of Butterfield, there is a grain elevator right next to the hwy. take a left(awayfrom the elevator) and go approx. 2.5 miles to the brown and yellow county park sign. turn in and join us.

if anyone needs directions from a different area let me know. thanks for the interest.

yep, sorry guys, paintball is still a hobby for me. haven't had the cash to buy a compressor yet. we may have CO2, maybe. but otherwise bring what you would need for a normal day playing 6 hrs of recball with your buddies at home.

I'm currently planning to return to this one.

Matt runs a great field, and it's the first woods game of the season anywhere.

Great way to start off the new season if you ask me.

can you provide a map on where this place is located. Is this a private land? How many acres? 4x4 needed to get there?

Directions from Roch would be: Take I90 to Fairmont,MN. @ Fairmont, take HWY 15 N to HWY 60. @ 60 HWY 15 splits, the left fork goes towards St. James, MN. you will need to take that ramp. you will stay on 60 headed towards St. James, you will pass saint james and go approx another 9 miles. you will pass Butterfield,MN and shortly after Butterfield you will see a Grain Elevator right next to the HWY on the North side. there is a N/S gravel rd right there on the west side of the elevator. turn S away from the elevator. go approx. 2.5 miles. there is a brown and yellow county park sign. turn in and park with the rest of tha vehicles. i will be checking the road in frequently between now and then but there is the possibilty that you will need 4wheel drive.if you don't have one, we can arrange to drive you in.

that is actually the address of my house(you weren't supposed to know where I live Darrin ). but, we can use that as a reference point. You would go East of town, approx. 2 miles. as you look at the map, you will see 600th ave, running N/S. take 600th, south from HWY 60. you can see on the map that there is a road that goes west and ends in a loop. that is the park. if you zoom in one click and pan the right(East) it shows up a little better.

Do you think anyone would get mad if we put up some bright colored neon paper signs that morning that pointed in the direction of the field from where they turn off of highway 60?

knock yourself out. I'll let you handle that.

So you are going to leave a project that requires being there early to a guy who has trouble making it on time? Sound like a good idea to me too! :D

Mustangman

well, as one of our founding members it's about time you started being a little more responsible tongue :):D

Just curious, but do you know if it is illegal to hang things on the street signs out in the country? Like if I were to tie some balloons to the sign on the corner do you think they would have a problem or do I have to get sticks to hang them on?

Mustangman
02-14-2008, 04:17 PM
I dunno, people do it all the time though. just make sure you remove them after the game. make sure you let people know what color the ballons will be as well.

I will figure it later.... I have a little time yet. I have to get out and find something that will stand out. When I figure it out I will be sure to get it posted up here. Don't worry I will be on time with this stuff.

Damn, no hpa. I was really looking foward to this game until I said no hpa. Most of my team members uses hpa. I don't even own a co2 tank. I could probably fill my tank and play with that. When It runs out, my day will be over.

I think i'm going to this Frostbuster event. If I do go (tentative yet), are you guys game for some video MTV? I am itching to play and at the same time make another MTV for my youtube page. Whoever is willing, I want to continue my " Woodsball Warrior " series and would like to interview volunteers in showcasing their markers. Also, I want to do an action MTV where volunteers will re-enact a fight/attack scene. I have a blazing tune already in mind and would like to get some good woodsball action. Keep in mind, I might need 30min to an hour devoted to just some re-enactment. I get better shots and footages this way rather than an actual scrimmage. Well? Any volunteers?

Mustangman
02-27-2008, 10:36 PM
Kyle925, I am sure there will be plenty of people willing do that for you. if you have any questions, feel free to call me 507.227.3385

Mustangman, what are the prices for the paint and Co2 gonna be? if any

Mustangman
03-02-2008, 07:40 PM
from what i was told by the dealer:
Marbs$65
Premiums$55
Rampage$45

CO2 fills between $2 amd $5 dollars depending on the size of the tank.

edit, no one is under obligation to buy paint, but if you can it would be appreciated. this was originally scheduled as a BYOE event, and always has been in the past. this dealer is doing this as a favor to me and any purchases will be greatly appreciated. I asked him to come in since so many people this time of year might not have any inventory left from last season and to hopefully establish a point of business for those of us in this part of the state. thanks in advance to everyone who is planning on attending this game. as of right now, the weather forecast looks to be great with predicted temps in the hi 30s and low 40s.

How many are going so far?

I've heard at least 60-65.

I've got 3 Sentinels coming (counting me), and another guy is coming along for a total of 4.

Mustangman
03-12-2008, 05:24 PM
I expect at least 50 and depending on some other people may reach that 60-65 mark. so, if you have anyone who wants to play this weekend, bring them out.

weather actually looks really good for Sunday. Looks to be in the low 40's which is about ten degrees warmer than last year and hopefully no windchill either.
