The new Proto SLG includes patented Spool Valve Technology, which allows the gun to operate more consistently at a lower operating pressure, giving you 1500 shots on a 68/4500-air tank. In addition, the new multifunction, self-lubricating Force Button allows clearing the bolt without tools, acts as a cocking mechanism, and prevents unsafe disassembly of the marker when gassed up. The SLG comes standard with the new Hyper3 In-Line Air Regulator featuring higher flow, more consistency, and smoother velocity adjustment. Regular maintenance and cleaning are easy with one-tool-one-screw bolt breakdown. The Proto SLG consists of solid construction using a hardened steel sear, aluminum body and bolt, and a reinforced polymer frame and trigger. All this adds up to a tournament grade package you can afford.

Features:

* No Rise pressure feed neck
* Single piece proto barrel
* Anti chop break beam eye system
* Orbital Rotating Sear - reduces wear
* Compact lightweight body weighing only 2 lbs. 2 oz!
* Stamped metal insert logo
* Self closing valve 2 piece bolt
* Multifunction self lubricating force button
* Super low 145psi operating pressure
* Adjustable reinforced polymer trigger
* Ergonomic 45 grip frame
* Hyper3 inline air regulator
* Proto dual durometer injection sticky grip
* Program with four tournament modes - Semi Auto, PSP Ramping, Millenium Ramping, and NXL Ramping
* Shoots up to 20 BPS

The marker looks like it could be a pretty decent marker. I may just pick one up as a back up to see how it really performs.

I thought the spool valve was more common... not a patented device for a single company/conglomerate.

Looks like a sear tripper crossed with a spool valve.

I'll probably pass, got too much gear as it stands, and I really don't need anything else that requires batteries, the Viking can do anything I need for the electro category.

I'm kind of excited about the SLG. Like an Automag, it's a sear-controlled blowforward. Unlike a 'mag (but like an Ion), there's no on/off controlled by the trigger, and the bolt recocks with air pressure.

What I like most is how simple the SLG is. A bolt, a few o-rings and an electrically-tripped sear are all there is to go wrong. No poppet cupseal to leak, no delicate solenoid valve to blow out.

Spoolers aren't known for their efficiency, and it's hard to find any reliable numbers on how good the SLG does. I've heard Dye's latest markers (i.e. DM7, DM8) make Tippmanns look efficient in comparison.

I want one. :D

They're priced under $200 at action village. Thats a real steal for that type of marker.

it doesn't even come with a clamping feedneck. You are better off spending another $50-$100 on something else.

i dont know if its as good as a rail it will be a sweet gun and its small, who cares if it dosent have a clamping feedneck. thats why after market parts are made. id get one if i wasent already on a few gun finding missions.:D
