I would say more then one but also I would say the happiness of the players and the freindly enviroment.

It's tough to pick just one. Prices and quality players + quality staff. Hmmm, sounds like we already have that at Splat Tag.

The most important thing is:

-quality players as the regulars (as in skill, sense of fun, and honor/integrity). It doesn't matter if it's the best, cheapest place you've ever seen; if there are only people there with a bad attitude, it'll be no fun and people will stop coming.

Now, what makes a quality player visit...
-quality field staff/refs to keep things running smoothly
-good prices
-great field/terrain
-consistant hours of operation (for example, every weekend from time X to time Y)
-interesting events outside of just basic Capture the Flag from time to time. Regulars love a good big game or scenario now and then.

A great example of a field that has these traits is Splat Tag.

A great example of a field missing some of these traits is Special Forces in Buffalo, MN. They've got some good fields and a pretty nice price tag, but their staff doesn't really do their job and the hours of operation are sporadic at best. It's an alright place, but they'd be a lot better with a better staff and some enforcement of the rules.

As a result, more quality players can be found at Splat Tag.

Thank you Darrin for running such a nice place.

Customer service is my thing. I like customer service. Good customer service is what brings me back. Prices is the other thing too. But I would pay whatever the field asked if thier customer service there was good. I'd support them and help keep the field open.

That is why I love going to Combat Zone and Just paintball in Hinkley. Although its a drive there. The guys there have awesome customer service. I love those guys.

I could care less about qaulity players. I move on and forget about it. They like wiping or arguing. Its okay, if you feel that you had to do that to win. More power to you. Not worth the strength or hassel to get all wild up about it. I know that my team and myself play honestly and thats all that matters when we go home at the end of the day.

We'll make friends with good players and brush off the others.

Quality of the other players
Friendly staff
Variety of playing fields
Air supply - HP or C02

for me i would say it goes like that. but darrin you dont have to worry about anything you have and run a great field. you keep me and the rest of us coming back!

Well it has got to be prices and location, that's what first would draw me to a field AT FIRST. But to keep me playing there they would need to have a friendly staff, (not badmoon)laughing:) just kidding. What they supply is also crucial. You can't expect everyone to have enough paint and air to last the entire day all the time. Some people don't have the convience of having a store that sells paint and air nearby so having it directly at the field is great. The number of fields isn't always important, it's the quality of the fields that you're playing on. It can get pretty boring playing the same fields over and over and over. People get too used to where to go and hide for cover. It's a whole lot more fun when neither side is overly familiar with the cover. The ability to make good quick decisions is vital. If you know exacltly where every spot of cover it is it almost takes away that aspect of the game. I guess I enjoy a little different type of terrain every game. It keeps the quick decisions apart of the game.:D

deffinalty qualtiy of players the host really needs to hammer down on bad attitudes and dirty players, i played recelty at a scenario it was basicly scenario players versus speed ballers / tourny ballers, and one of the speed ballers was caught saying "F' scenario we're tourny ball why should give a s*^$t about scenario ball" and the whole day was misserable, eveything form playing on, over shooting, ignoring the barrel tag rules in both ways as in "barrel tag your out" , but then have them turn around and shoot you in the face multiple times or putting 5 in your back instead of calling barrel tag. i dont care who i play against or what marker they're running so as long as they play clean as far as prices go as long as the prices are not above the MSRP im fine with it, but hat qute ealer made me kinda sick, its paintball for crips sake play it becuse you want to have fun and so others can have fun, dont come to field with the mind set to make others miserable. and dont let those kind of players onto the field, if you can spot them out

Id say a variety of fields and quality staff cause i dont like it when the refs dont know whats going on and stuff and it gets boring playing the same kind of fields evry game. But splattag has both of those:)

Quality of other players is by far what makes a good game. If you have someone who isn't flexible, whines and complains when they get hit, plays on or wipes. It really does wreck the game for everyone else.

Yet the only way to really stop these things from happening is having a good staff and refs to watch the field.

I'd take a game of 5 on 5 of quality, friendly players anyday over a game of 50 on 50 of guys who don't play the game for the enjoyment of it. Hart's paintball happily drives about an hour and half to come play with the great group at Splat Tag.

i went with good staff, location and amount of players.

-with a good staff you will have a well kept field with them hopefully enforcing the rules therefore eliminating most of those bad apples

- i think location is fairly important in that sometimes it's just too far to go to a place often. im glad hart's paitnball can make it down to splat tag tho. i dont have to drive far.

-and amount of players....if every weekend is just 5 on 5 over and over....well you know how that gets.

i dont think price is an enormous factor because you are already playing quite an expensive game, and if teh field has quality and staff then it's worth a price.

and is it bad that i almost only play at splat tag??? cuz it has most of everything. pretty much TOP NOTCH ESTABLISHMENT
