I borrowed my Mini to a friend last year, and he mentioned that he had to change the battery becuase it died on him. Well, today I aired the up Mini, and it wouldn't turn on. So I assumed the battery was dead, put a new one in, and still nothing. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the wire that runs from the battery back to the board has been pinched, and now shorts out. If I hold the wires in teh right spot it turns on.

Where can I get a new one of the described parts preferable fast...as I would like to use it, if I am able to fanagle some sort of deal, to be able to make the Hunt.

Kee will hook you up with a new battery harness but if you need it to work now I would suggest striping the wires at the problem area, connecting them and taping them up. If I remember correctly my Mini had plenty of slack for repair.

Scroll down to #9, only $5. I'm not sure how much shipping is. But for me they have been really reasonable priceing in the past

Carlito, it doesn't say how shipping works, like if I ordered it today, would they ship it Monday, with the hopes of it being here before Friday?

Thanks for the help by the way... I had no idea what it was even called, as my thread title states lol

Ern - I know CC sells Minis - you could give them a call, see if they have any spare BATTERY HARNESSes.

The guy from BOSS paintball will be at a big east-coast paintball game this weekend. I don't know if he'll be up for work on Monday. :)

If CC doesn't have one or you're otherwise SOL, I could repair your existing harness if you want. I work in Maple Grove. Might even be able to do it while you wait.

cut the wire at the pinch, strip 1/4" off each side, slide a piece of heat shrink tubing (available at radio shack) so there is 1/2 inch more than crimped area. use a soldering gun and silver solder (with flux) solder the two ends together.. Slide the heat shrink tubing over repair and use a lighter to shrink it till it's tight and won't move. That is the proper way to repair wiring and will be water proof. With practice this would take 10 minutes (5 to heat up the solder gun).
Or if you're really good at soldering, get a new harness from radio shack, and solder the leads directly to the board, but i don't recommend a novice doing it since the heat can melt sensitive parts on the board..

I've had to fix two Ion boards because of this same issue.

Good Luck!

A member from the Badger Brigades contacted me and had an extra and got it to me at the hunt. I have another issue with the mini, but its the result of an operatior error, just waiting for the replacement to come in.

Thanks for the help though guys. Mods you can close this.
