Hi all! I am going to be attending the big game at Splat Tag tomorrow which happens to be my first scenario game and my first game at Splat Tag. I am hoping to meet some fun people there and maybe even tag along with a crew that can show me the ropes of Splat Tag big games. I am planning to attend several of the big games and both GBGs this year. If you wouldn't mind an extra body in your crew for the day I would love to join you!

A little about me... I am 26 and live in Montrose, MN. I started playing paintball in 1998 when I was in high school and built a couple fields on my parents property in Rice Lake, WI. I held 10-25 person games there a lot during school but when everyone dispersed to college we kind of got out of the sport and I let the fields die. I was in the Stout Paintball Club my first year of college but dropped paintball to focus on other activities. After graduating college I moved to St. Louis for a couple of years but in 2008 I moved back North to Minnesota. Last spring I realized how much I missed the old hobby so I bought a few new markers and started rebuilding the old fields in Wisconsin. I got a mixed age crew of about 20 guys together and we played about 10 games on my private fields last summer and we are hoping to keep it going this year.

I have always had a lot of interest in big games/scenario games and have read a lot about them but for some reason I have never made it to one. Upon moving to MN and researching the nearby fields I was excited to read about Splat Tag and have been itching to get there all winter. This year I have vowed to dive into big games/scenario games full force starting with the game tomorrow. None of my usual crew was available to join me tomorrow but I have decided to go out on a limb and try something new and exciting without any familiar faces to back me up. I play a lot of different styles and adapt pretty well to changing situations. I primarily use Tippmanns because being able to rely on CO2 is great when refilling tanks at your own remote little field. I'll probably be using one of my beloved and pampered old school Pro-Lites as my primary tomorrow but will bring some heavier firepower in case it is needed.

I hope to meet a lot of great players this year at Splat Tag, on these forums, and at other scenario games. Sorry for the lengthy introduction but once agian, Hi and let me know if you would like an extra body to join you tomorrow! If I can't find a small squad I'll just fly solo and look forward to seeing you on the field!

If you want intense come on down to Oklahoma D-Day, try 3000-4000 people.

Join the German 716th. Great group of guys.
unit registration deadline's 15 Apr i think, to register for the German side you have until Mid May i believe.

You beat me to the punch, Skibbo...I was just going to suggest the 6th FJR! Also, I think unit choice ends on the 1st, unless they've extended it again this year.

Welcome to the forum, Kanem. I know the feeling going from a small group of friends to a huge scenario game. For me, last year was my jump into scenario play...and I haven't looked back since. The 2009 Hunt for the Cure at Splat Tag was excellent last year and this year's game looks to be even better. Also, as Skibbo mentioned, scenario play doesn't get any more intense that Oklahoma D-Day. Sited on a 700+ acre field in eastern OK, this game has a little bit of everything for everyone...usually with so much paint flying that it block out the sun.

(OK, that was an exaggeration, but not by much :scared0012:)

D-Day isn't just a game, it's an experience.

Hope you have fun tomorrow and hope to see you at a future Splat Tag Event!

Thank you for the warm welcomes everyone! I'll try to meet up with some of you guys tomorrow. The Oklahoma game sounds very intense and I will definitely start looking into that too. I have a 2-year old so it'll be hard for me to leave the wife at home and make the road trip but maybe if I start begging now I can pull it off... tongue:)

@ AKA - Monticello is definitely a short jaunt from here, I was actually just there last weekend. I'll try catch up with you in the morning after I find the field and get my bearings!

First off welcome to the forums. I started in 2008 and my first game was Hunt for the cure at splat tag, it was a great intro to scenario paintball and splat tag is a great field. I hope to see you at the hunt and many more games this year.

Nice to have met you Kanem, I hope us Splat-Tagger's gave you a run for your money. Maybe some good stories to tell your fellow Rec ballers what they're missen. Look us up anytime you make it back there. I won't tell anyone about the Oh-oh's with the Pro-Lites if you don't;) we'd hate to have that going around.:D/AKA

It was a great time, thank you everyone for a positive first experience at Splat Tag! It was good meeting those of you that I had a chance to talk with and I'm sure I'll get to know many of you better as time goes on. The challenge will be putting forum names to faces!

I will definitely be at Hunt for the Cure and will see if I can bring a few bodies with me to experience their first game at Splat Tag too.
