Hi all! I am going to be attending the big game at Splat Tag tomorrow which happens to be my first scenario game and my first game at Splat Tag. I am hoping to meet some fun people there and maybe even tag along with a crew that can show me the ropes of Splat Tag big games. I am planning to attend several of the big games and both GBGs this year. If you wouldn't mind an extra body in your crew for the day I would love to join you!
A little about me... I am 26 and live in Montrose, MN. I started playing paintball in 1998 when I was in high school and built a couple fields on my parents property in Rice Lake, WI. I held 10-25 person games there a lot during school but when everyone dispersed to college we kind of got out of the sport and I let the fields die. I was in the Stout Paintball Club my first year of college but dropped paintball to focus on other activities. After graduating college I moved to St. Louis for a couple of years but in 2008 I moved back North to Minnesota. Last spring I realized how much I missed the old hobby so I bought a few new markers and started rebuilding the old fields in Wisconsin. I got a mixed age crew of about 20 guys together and we played about 10 games on my private fields last summer and we are hoping to keep it going this year.
I have always had a lot of interest in big games/scenario games and have read a lot about them but for some reason I have never made it to one. Upon moving to MN and researching the nearby fields I was excited to read about Splat Tag and have been itching to get there all winter. This year I have vowed to dive into big games/scenario games full force starting with the game tomorrow. None of my usual crew was available to join me tomorrow but I have decided to go out on a limb and try something new and exciting without any familiar faces to back me up. I play a lot of different styles and adapt pretty well to changing situations. I primarily use Tippmanns because being able to rely on CO2 is great when refilling tanks at your own remote little field. I'll probably be using one of my beloved and pampered old school Pro-Lites as my primary tomorrow but will bring some heavier firepower in case it is needed.
I hope to meet a lot of great players this year at Splat Tag, on these forums, and at other scenario games. Sorry for the lengthy introduction but once agian, Hi and let me know if you would like an extra body to join you tomorrow! If I can't find a small squad I'll just fly solo and look forward to seeing you on the field!
