We are looking for a logo for this web site.
It must have the words "Minnesota Scenario Paintball Guide"
And be designed with the look and feel of the Sceanrio player in mind.
Winner will have his/her logo used on this web site for one year and receive two cases of paintballs.

im taking part in this too! but i was wondering a few things that would make this alot easier, what is the pixel size of the banner we can make? what color is the background of the site gonna be? and when is the dead line?

It will be a Great off-season Event here.
I am working on the details and guidelines and will get them up here as quickly as I can, so get your Ideas ready and get ready to Design./AKA
O.K here are some details for your entries:
The contest will run from Nov. 1st to Jan. 1st yearly. If there are more than six entries we will choose Six. These six or less will then be judged by Members in a Poll to pick one. Sound Fair?
Keep in mind that this is for a Scenario/Woodsball Logo.
1) The Logo must be your own work and have no part of someone elses or TM.
2) It must Include Minnesota Scenario Paintball Guide in it or on it. The Web address does not have to appear at this time but would be helpful.
3) As far as size goes use your own discression, keeping in mind that the Logos
will be used in Ads, Sigs, Pics, and so on.
4) You may Enter up to 3 Logo designs.
5) Your Logo design should include the year for which it will be used, this years is 2008
I think thats about it, any ?'s be sure to ask. I am putting up my amiture design for an example only so do not critisize I am not a Profesional.:)/AKA

Hi Krutsie, Sure hope nobody saw them to steal 'em,300a:) So I hope you got the Idea we're going for here, it's just something for people to do and work on for a couple of months and hope their Idea and art work will be chosen by the Guides Members in a poll to represent the Guides Logo for a year and then we do it again next year. What we're looking for is a Logo like the one Darrin uses in his sig. The Minnesota Paintball Association and about that size, so we can use the logo in our own Sigs. and Home Page and anything else to advertise the Web Site. So use whatever you have to make the logo work. Sorry about the limit of three, glad to here you have more! So post your best and theres always next year./AKA
i just got done with my first one it looks pretty sweet more to come tho 3 gives you a verity of styles to choose from..

I realized that to, but he was testing his new gun setup when I took the picture. the orriginal pic was cool because i got the triburst three balls flying out the barrel but edited them out by mistake. Any picture can be put there in its place with the clic of a button. I have little pictures to go with.if you have a pic of anyone possing the exact way shooting,please send it to me. lol

That's very nice, but all I was going for was the Logo first then have that added to a Banner or Signature. I think we all had better get on the same page here, should we make this contest be for a page Banner or (Header) or should it be just a logo first then added to a Banner, I myself would much rather add somebody's logo design to my Sig rather than a Banner to advertise the site on the other Forums I belong to. For Example:

And for doing Business cards for which I hand out to potential players regularly, it is a little easier with a logo on the card rather than a Banner.
So I guess we need to know for all our sakes Darrin, is do you want a Page Header or a Logo First?

I can take a bit of the blame for the confusion. I am a webdesigner and I always make a logo in a header format for web presence I might have caused some confusion. I do Appologize. But it is a website and forum we are dealing with right? I think the best Logo design is AKA,s

I do like your header.
Well let's see here--I'll tell you what, we will all (4 of us so far) design a Header and also a smaller version of it, (or similar to it), for the Logo. Does that sound like the way to go or what? As fast as we've shown a few so far, I think by Jan. 1st we could all have atleast 1 set done by then. You can still enter 3 sets if you want to. We'll still choose winner by Poll.

To be honest,Its not about winning to me. I just want to help. I love paintball. I'm a little crazy on the field at times. (ask darrin about the last game on appreciation day)LOL. If my header isn't voted as the best,thats fine, that wasn't my goal.I want to see this site used and appealing to the eye. I know Darrin has a strong heart and loves this sport and all that he does is to better it. I'm aboard on that mission.
kurtsie nailed it right on the head heh it turns out my first one wouldn't fit this competition so i get to start over! comando:) also i was thinking about making some transparent backs for my images so could u please say what color the site is gonna stay for this year or is that still undecided?

The page back will be black.
The logo may be use in a number of ways including photo and video stamp.

Sorry to hear you had to scrap out some of your work, when nothing has really changed, other than having one big me and a mini me. So if you had a mini me just expand it into a big me. Thats kinda what I'm doing with my Logo, its just taking some time./AKA
yeah and i forgot to save some of the pieces that i wanted to spiff up but o well tomorrow will be a Sunday with no paint ball :( so... guess it will be graphic design day :D

We still need a LOGO like the one in the lower botton right corner.
It will also be used for video stamp and other things. Maybe sticker and patches down the line.

I used a combination of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. I drew the leaf first, then copied and pasted it a ton of times. The fonts are Stencil, Impact, and Manito. The ACU pattern came from finding a pic on Google images.

Illustrator is just what it would appear, it's an illustration program allowing you to draw on the computer. I drew the leaves and the shape of Minnesota using Illustrator. I also incorporated the text with it. It's a neat program when you get the hang of it.

No, I don't have a stylus pad, but then I've learned to draw without needing one. Illustrator allows you to work with curve handles to get an arched line to bend the way you want it. That's how I drew the leaves.
Good Job Badger! All from scratch too. This kinda stuff is fun and I recommend it to everyone to try it. I'm learning and working with programs from the 90's yet, so I can only Imagine what the 2000's stuff can do.:rolleyes:
And No its not cheating to compete in a contest like this if its your job or whatever, in fact I was hoping it would bring in those that do this for a job or trained or educated in design, to motivate us beginners into doing some design work of our own.
So if your still wondering if your good enough to compete, please stop wondering and get to work, life is'nt all games you know, teaching yourself something new, does have its advantages. There is only three weeks to go!/AKA

Badger's act looks pretty tough to follow, but i'll toss my hat in the ring. Didn't realize that he also did the digi camo fill in the state outline until I came back after finishing mine, doh! I created mine with Photoshop and Illustrator as well, wanted to do a simple military feel. So i'll throw down 3 variants and a header for giggles.

i beg to differ on the photoshop is tough part i meen i had troubles with it when i was new but now i got the hang of it but still much to learn i have the ps7 bible but now i have cs3 so i gotta learn those new things before i learn another new program so i think most of my sumissions will mostly be done in photoshop im still piecing my ideas together but it will come to me eventually!

Well with just a week to go before the deadline to have your entries posted for the contest poll vote, I've decided to go with what I have. Even though I know I'm in a tuff competition. I am already looking forward to upgrading my tools for next years contest.
This first one is just my attempt at a Header, the Picture on the left was taken from GGVII in Morristown, It is one of the PBPBC Members that attended. I'm not sure who shot the pic. but it was one that was shooting down there that weekend. The second pic. was taken at Splat-Tag, not sure who shot this one either or who this is, but its a Great Sniper shot. I think both Photo's should have Awards.

In the Header, the picture on the left is a Pelican (Spartacus), he started with us in 2001, but did'nt get to play last year, had a weelend Job.
The picture on the right is not a Pelican, but I liked the picture alot so I used it. Its from a GG, I think it was GGX./AKA
Tomarrow, Monday Dec. 31st, 2007 will be the last day to submit your MSPG Logo designs. So come on and get them in, its worth 2 cases of paint, bragging rights, and to see it on everything that has to do with the MSPG, for 1 year.:cool:
All entries will be shown and put into a Poll for all Members here to Vote on, for which they think should represent the MSPG. We will probably run this Poll for 2 weeks and call the most votes the Winner!300a:)
Then we will do it all again starting in November 2008, so if you don't win this year or do not enter a Logo at least get started on one for next years contest.
