I have 4 Pure Energy 72/3000 tanks that are about to require rehydro and I'm looking for hydo tester recommendations, preferably in the SW metro area.

I am considering the Ninja swap for one of the tanks because the regulator has been leaking for quite a while and I can't seem to repair it. The bottom line for the Ninja swap is about $67. I know I can buy a new PE 72/3000 off Ebay for $68 but doing the swap I'd have a tank good for 5 years with a Ninja reg.

If anybody could refer me to a good hydro tester in the SW metro area I would appreciate it.

Thank you and I will watch for replies.

I know Air Assualt does it.

I sent my tank to: http://www.hydrotester.com/ and they did a great job.

We (Air Assault) do it for $25.

We break away the reg, clean the threads, take it to All-Safe downtown and they do the hydrostatic test.

Once we get it back from All-Safe, we re-install the reg per the customers specifications (either torqued or lock-tighted) and then test the tank to verify its leak free and that the output is correct without any shootdown.

If you take it in yourself, All-Safe charges $19. They will not break away regs, you have to do that yourself.

Myself and Gary are THE most qualified "airsmiths" in the state. I am up to date on most manufacturers, a Planet Eclipse master tech, and have been doing this for going on 16 years.

I have heard nothing but good things about hydro tests done by AA Matter of fact I need to get one of my tanks checked soon

AA hydotesting is great, I just sent a tank in not too long ago and although it took awhile for them to contact me about it once it was done (I think cuz Brent was on vacation) it came back with no scratches or dents and was pretty cheap to boot. It's definitely the place to go

dont try to break the reg yourself, have AA or someone who has the stuff to do it take it off... certain tanks like trottles and some pure energy tanks thread on their regs with stuff that you cant just clamp down and torque off

I have a question. The date on the tank, is that the date it should be tested or is it five years after that date?

Five years after that date. The date on the tank will be the date it was last hydro tested.
