I run a tippy 98c with a cyclone feed and responce trigger. this is an upgrade that is a must. DOnt get me wrong,A tippmann 98 runs perfectly stock but if you run with these two upgrades your 98c will equal or be just a good as running a A5. I swear by mine.

I also run a 98 with a cyclone. However, I lost patience with my response trigger and removed it. Many people like them, I just didn't want to F with mine too much, so I pulled it. The cyclone, however, is a must. I run with one on all my Tippmans.

it will chop alot of paint if u are running brittle paint at high rates of fire.
i can help but i need to know:
R u maxing out the response to 15bps?
what type of paint r u shooting(and how old is it)?
Have u cleaned ur Cyclone in a whyle?
Any other ups on ur 98?

The biggest I've ever had with the 98C cyclones is that sometimes the paddles aren't offset so it ends up double feeding...resulting in chopped paint and a mess to clean up. Other than that, the Cyclone is a must upgrade for the 98.

As for the response trigger, I honestly don't find it all that useful. Back when I used only my Tippmann, I never hit the optimum point where the responce really comes into play. Now maybe I'm not using it correctly, but personally I see it as a waste of weight and air.

Go with the cyclone if you wish, but I don't really see the value in the RT system.

As for chopping, only if the cyclone has been set up incorrectly or your ROF exceeds 15 BPS. Cyclones weren't meant to go that fast, and they'll feed incorrectly and likely the ratchet will break soon after.
