I'd pay that much maybe...it PE gold plated it for me...but then of course it would spend it's life locked in a glass case...

not to be too cynical or anything, but i kinda smell a scam... personally i would get in contact with PE and make sure these things actually existed, it just sounds too good to be true, and since the picture looks computer made it seems like the perfect scam for someone with some good editing software and alot of time
or that could just be me being paranoid after hearing of all too many scams floating around
either way, my two cents i guess

Even still... $5100 for a paintball marker is a scam any way you cut it...even if it is real............

Well the demand sets the prices and apparently the demand is pretty high.

And it is a 1/10 prototype marker that was never put into production (even though it really isn't that unique. I mean, isn't a Geo a Geo?)

lol, there is a reason SL91's never went into production. It's the same reason there is no Geo10. At least someone will have a nice marker. Personally I'd buy a nice used car or something.

Actually there is no geo ten because PE said they want to get out of the yearly cycle thing.

Even if they don't call their marker _____10, ____11. etc, if they don't come out with a marker that is a actual improvement over the others, I don't see much of a point of "getting out of the yearly cycle". And shaving a couple of ounces off last years model doesn't count as a improvement in my eyes.

Thats why they are going to stop the yearly cycle, so they can actually make solid improvments to the guns. Also I would say the Ego 9 was quite a bit different than the previous Egos.

They say that but yet they came out with an ego10. I think it's really because geo's didn't go over as well as they would have liked. PE needs to stick with what they know, poppets, and let Dye do the spoolie thing.

I think a year gives PE plenty of time to come up with new improvements for their markers. The only thing that would change for PE by not having a yearly release cycle would be a loss of profit. Most of the people who buy the new ego's are going to buy them wheather they have been improved or not. Suprisingly there are a lot of people who have too much money to spend.
In my opinion the ego8 has been the best out of the box ego to date. The only real difference with the 09's is efficency and a whole bunch of negative issues (which have been addressed and are fixable) We'll see how the 10's work out. There seem to be a lot of ego 10's for sale on pbn so that may be a sign of what people think of them, kind of like how the Nt's pretty much flopped.

I like the yearly cycle because it makes used egos cheaper for me.:D

EXACTLY!!! Why pay $1250 for a brand new ego when you can buy the exact same one 6 months later for $800.

Slick, the reason they changed the solenoid attachment from the ego8 to the 9 is that the membranes in the qev were not holding up to long term punishment.... if you have ever had to replace them they are a bear.... the direct attachment is a little slower but much more reliable and doesnt need to be replaced every 20,000 shots.....

I do agree about the nt ... its basically a glorified slg..... although both guns do shoot nicely

I know they eliminated the qev's and "increased air paths" into the rammer, that is what they claimed the improvements were. Eliminating the Qev was the only real improvement because by opening the airpaths they were shredding rammer rings like mad. At least it was an easy fix. I just don't understand how they didn't pick this up during testing? Hopefuly the 10's really are better.
