We going to wait till we all get warm to start this thread?

The best time I ever had when wet to the bone and feeling Miserable. It took me three days to warm up.

every rag in my gear bag (and I have more than I could possibly use in 4 normal games) was soaked by the end of the day. I actually wore the fog-free coating off my first set of lenses from whiping them off so much. Next rain game I'm just bringing a super soaker cuz that's basicly what my marker turned into any way. my barrel looked like an A-5 on 20bps full outo running co2 for a minute with all the spray comming out the end of it.

I set my M82a1 in a mud puddle in the final battle when i was putting our flag up at the Tippman tower. I lifted it and water came out the barrel. two shots and It was good to go. shot the Terminator shortly after.

Funny thing. Sunday the wife and I were looking for a movie to watch and the old classic"HambergerHill" was on. the scene where they were fighting in the rain climbing the Hill was on. we both started shaking like crazy just by watching it. I turned it fast. LOL.

The rain and cold didn't get to me until the last 15 minutes of the final battle, I remember standing behind one of the bales with a Wild Bunch guy talking about being chilled to the bone and laughing about it, I shivered well into the late evening even after getting cleaned up and putting on dry clothes.

Krutsie I gotta apologize to you man for the rough radio communications. We had a lot of chatter and interference and I think the humitidy was messing with my radio's speakers. I know I checked in a lot on you guys and it probably got annoying, but as far as i'm concerned you and your guys did a helluva job out there. Also, I still owe you guys for some laminated maps I think so i'll keep an eye out for ya at Splattag to give my donation, thanks for hooking that up.

Props to the Splattag refs, I know you guys had to put up with the weather and not get the chance to warm up at least by getting in the action. The Alliance base refs did a great job and I know it probably wasn't the most fun being stuck out at the bases for hours on end without breaks.

I remember when Nate and Rotter pulled up with food for our refs, hot dogs never looked so good...

After about an hour of crawling thru the wet brush, i was totally soaked, along with my gortex boots. i might as well have jumped into that lake behind the field. But i was normally in some thick battles that kept my mind away from the cold, until i walked off the field. Then i realized how friggen cold it was haha. My 98 functioned pretty well until about half way thru the cyclone on it started acting up, and i would fire about every 5th trigger pull. not good when behind enemy lines.

At about that time when my trigger started acting up i remember seein Ish come out from the bushes and elimnate our squad and re capture the tower that we took...sneaky guy

by the time we had made it to some of the refs the hot dogs where as cold as the refs. we still tryed to get refs breaks when they needed them. side note most refs at a gbg dont leave the feild of play for 8 hours. only time we (ie nate and nick rotter) make it off the feild is when we need to get the food or the mission boxes, or a ambulance trip to the first aid tent. wich we did alot that day.ankles and knees mostly.

Thats Ish for Ya. He's My XO. We didn't tell many people but our 15 members planned for the GBG ended up being around 8 guys. I was darn proud of my guys. (My cousin from Iowa brought 8 guys and they hung with us all Day)

actually C4 .shortly after I got a transmission from you about needing a LAW my Radio got set down while I was in a was sneaking up on a guy behind the
f150 ,I got the guy in the back then got eliminated by a guy who stepped out the red tape for a second to shoot me.after attending the mash unit and returning to get my Radio it was in the heart of battle.I yelled ,"give me cover fire, I need my radio". and got it ,"Big time"I made it to my radio but later it had an incounter with a mud puddle. then later that day disapeared out of my tach vest pocket. I have two Cobra's missing now. (one is in the lost and found with my name on it from the HFTC.LOL)

As far as the LAW issue. The regulator on our main LAW broke 15 minutes before the game . Jamie gave me his LAW without showing me how to use it. Of course being our sniper ,He just disapeared before training me or Ish how to use it.

I saw it Krutsie, it didn't look like you "set" your marker in the puddle but more like you set your whole self in it by accident! LOL!

Yeah, there were a lot of people that left early, and I'm not talking the ones that left half way through. There were players who I saw within the last hour or so who disapeared for the final battle. C'mon guys, we we're all freezing.
Here's to "real" ballers!

Everything was working fine up untill the last speaches before the start. I did 3 test shots, and the third one shot out paint, and that was it for my A-5. Spent the next hour having it spew paint all over as i tried to fix it at my car.
Ended up running with my T-9 and grenades, while handing out paint to random people who were out. Lots of fun, and still got a decent body count with only 8 shots at a time.
The thing i was happiest about was that i laminated a bunch of maps.

Yeah, there's something to be said about the dependability of the Cyclone system. Not to bash Tippmann but I've seen more cyclones fail than any other type of feed system, especially in the cold and harsh conditions. The only feed problems I had was because I was using my speed feed and rain was getting in and swelling my paint causing it to jam. I had to pull my hopper off and feed the bad paint out and I could keep on playing. Evenyually I just stuck a rag in the feed. Kinda a pain but it helped.
There really isn't much anyone can do in those conditions, the rain will find it's way into just about anything somehow.

You guys took out the other tower before I could could reclaim your back... I do have to say when I was pulling the flag I was waiting to get poped on the top of the head...laughing:)

all in all it was a fun game ( now that I can look back on it) only problem I had was being sent out with a LAW that was out of air.... I even had a good laugh when I stepped out to shoot a bunker that was being maned and nothing was happening.. I sat there for a good 15 sec untill they seen me trying to get the darn thing to shoot! laughing:)laughing:)

I do remember Jamie telling me that you need to unscrew the tank a little bit when not using it, it leakes. in the heat of me and darla using it earlier and it malfuctioning on us to,I must have forgoten to loosen the tank, then resulting in emptying the tank in time. Once we get the regulator fixed ,we will have or dependable LAW back.
The funny thing is. our first 3 Squad practices were miserable weather but we chose to have them anyways. My m82 gave me nothing but problems . At the GBG it worked flawlesslly(After Ish upgraded some stuff on the Cyclone feed). Even Darla g36 worked flawlessly. Kinda weird. We are still working on the radio Issue. not quite sure what to do there. Ish was running through the woods and his throut mich was draging behind him. rain doesn't help any kind of communication. LOL

Well, time for my long post, with my sincere thanks:

Thank you Darrin, for hosting and running this game and for the opportunity to try generaling.

Thank you refs, for sticking through the nasty conditions and still doing an incredible job.

Thank you C4, for being such a committed XO. Your extra dry erase map, your planning, your commitment to the game, it exceeded all expectations and I would be proud to play for you should you become a general someday.

Thank you AKA and MondoMor, for being honorable opponents. You guys did a great job with what you were dealt. It's hard to organize paintball players, and harder yet to keep them playing in those awful weather conditions. Give yourselves a pat on the back, you did indeed do well. I would gladly play for you guys in the future.

Thank you Wild Bunch, for your dedication throughout the day. When I needed a LAW, Cutstep was always soon on site. You provided me with a great deal of valued field intelligence with constant communications, and you were always able to turn the tide of the game wherever you were needed.

Thank you Woodland Security, for your patience with myself and the XO on the FRS/GMRS radios. It was a real trick to get through all the players and interference of the day, so thank you for putting up with our constant update requests. You guys were great to respond where needed, and I heard from Foster about some awesome sportsmanship from you guys near the octagon. Thank you for keeping the game fun for everyone wherever you went.

Thank you to my teammates Ninja and Jinx, who were my eyes and ears on the firebase values. Live intel from the frontlines is what was needed to make proper decisions at base, and you guys helped me be in multiple places at once.

And I'd like to give a thanks to all the walk-on players and other teams on both sides for coming out and bearing with the weather. You all had a part to play that day, and I'm grateful for all of you.

This is why I don't like listing "thank you"s much - always miss one. tongue:)

Good job holding down the "grass field" and urban course for us in the morning. I'm sorry to hear about the breakdown though. Thanks go to the father and sons that operate the tank, and I wish it a speedy recovery from its damage.

I didn't leave the field all day. not even for air fills.and let me tell you, i was cold, and i was sore. lol just standing there for the drawing at the end i was getting ready to litterally fall down. and the worst part? i was only 5 off from that flippin mini! i mean really! bad luck much? lol all grumbling and complaining aside, i had an awesome day. Thankyou Darrin for holding the event, and thankyou everyone else who stuck it out till the end, refs definately included( believe it or not they probably had it harder than us) it was a long cold day, and to anybody else that made it to the end, i salute you.
