What are some good force feed hoppers for the 98 Custom

Do you really need it to be force feed, or does agitating alone work?
Some of the ideas of agitating loaders that can be found fairly cheap are the Ricochet Apache, Viewloader Revvy, Halo TSA, Empire Reloader II.
If you really want a force fed loader, a little more can find you a Halo B or Empire Reloader B, but both would feed far faster than anything a 98 can fire.
I'd look for the Reloader II or TSA as a best bet for a balance between cost/performance and what actually is reasonable ROF for a 98.

I agree with Thalion
I dont think you need a force feed
Revvs are great and so are Ricochets

Also Invert just came out with a loader that is basicly a sound activated revvy with alot lower profile and magnetic lid.
Sarge has one and he says its alot better than the revvy.
Just some more options to look at.
ive seen sarge's sound activated hopper, the things pretty wicked.btw, wats your guy's opinion on the Richochet Apache? i was thinking about getting it, but i just wanted to know what you guys thought first.

whats the difference between the force fed and the agitated loaders? i can make an educated guess, but im not sure. and another thing to think about is does it have eyes? cuz it pretty hard to sneak up on someone while your loader's whirring away

I have an apache. I love it. But there is now way that it can feed its advertised feed rate of 18bps. I'd say more like 12bps. But thats fine with me. It probably can do 18 most of the time but not all the time like a halo can, since the apache is still basically gravity feed.

Force feed forces balls down the stack, so there's always a ball there.
Agitated, simply has a spinning propeller in the hopper, that activates either by sound when you shoot, or there's an eye in there when there's a empty spot in the stack, it'll spin.
Most agitated hoppers like Revvy's, Apache's, TSA's and the Empire style of Revvy will feed consistantly for most all mechanical markers. Unless you're getting up in the higher speeds, above 8-10, you shouldn't need more than a agitated hopper. I use one on my old 98, and it worked great. I still use one on my RT mag, and it works great. Force feeders, unless you buy the very high end ones, are going to be noticably heavier than the agitated as well.
any suggestions for an agitated hopper with eyes? sneaking around wouldnt be as easy while my hopper is whirring away lol.

Ricochet Apache (ok not eyes, but it has a sensor instead of sound), Revvy, and Halo TSA all come to mind.
Though the sound activated stuff is also pretty good. It can discern between other noises and the marker firing. How exactly I've never figured out.

Sound activated hoppers work fine. They don't wirr until you shoot.

When I shot my trilogy sport I used an Apache I loved it. I took many deflects off the hopper so no breaks on the hopper but they just deflected to my face Haha.. you get lucky sometimes though. I would recommend it for sure

here is why you want a halo or reloader b or other force feed hopper.... the 98 has no eyes....
with no eyes you always want to have a ball there when you pull the trigger, agitated hoppers will do most of the job but when it comes down to it and you are in a firefight with mayhem or something like that where you need all the paint you can in the air a force feed wont let you down, where an agitated hopper may skip a beat and you can end up chopping
you can buy a used halo for $40 or less and you dont have to worry about misfires

Even with the 98 not having eyes you stil don't need a force feed. Yes, the force feed keeps constant pressure on the ball stack but the marker can stil fire with the ball not being fully seated due to it not having eyes (I only say this because I've seen it more than once). Also the Halos eat batteries like crazy (6AA's), I've had the same (2) 9v in my tsa for probably a year and a half, I change the batteries in my halo just about every time I play.
An agitating hopper will do everything you need it to and then some. I used to use my TSA on my mini in the winter because the Halo would sometimes smash paint when the shell got really brittle and I can only remember over running the hopper once or twice and I was firing 15+bps which you won't be able to do with a stock 98. I Have 3 TSA's and in my opinion they're the best agitating hopper out there.
I heard someone say they were worried about the sound? You really don't hardly hear it unless you're out of paint and even then if the guy you're sneaking up on hears it you already barrel taged him.
If you go on PBnation or ebay you can find used TSA's for around $20. I just bought one for $4 + shipping, just had a crack on the feedneck that can be fixed with tape otherwise a new shell kit is about $15.

Agreed. Mine simply work great.

Where are you finding the shells? Last year, Paintball Solutions sold me what they said was their last TSA shells - the model was discontinued by Kee. I've been trying to hoard a few spares.
Edit: Weird. I just looked on eBay and there's shells all over the place. When I last looked months ago, there were none.

or wild bunch :D
Oh and did anybody mention the Cyclone Feed? does that count as a force-feed?
