I just started looking at hpa tanks and i noticed that there are a lot of nitrogen tanks out there too. So my question is if you can use high pressure air in a nitrogen tank.

HPA and Nitrogen = same thing (obviously not exactly) but you fill nitro tanks with HPA

actually when CO2 started getting fased out both nitro and compressed air were being used. Compressed air being the easier to get took over. When some one says nitro tank thats old school lingo. But yea, compressed air goes into nitro tanks.

Useless (well, not entirely) trivia of the day - HPA is about 80% (78% to be exact) nitrogen anyway, which is why in paintball the terms have been used interchangeably, even though there is still a technical difference.

This is true, most of the "Air" is nitrogen
And thats all I remember from my 3 years of high school science, god bless the public school system...

What is the best compressed air tank?sniper:)
There isn't a whole lot of difference, some are lighter than others and some are larger and hold more air. You could get the lightest, a 48/4500 (or 13/3000 actually:D) or you could go as big as 88/4500 (and they might even get bigger than that).
Depends how light you want your setup to be, and what gun you'll be shooting.
As far as brands go, Guerilla Air or Ninjas are probably the lightest and cheapest. But crossfire also make a nice stubby 48/4500 too I know.

My personal opinion is to say crossfire, because they're all I've used and had 0 problems with 'em.
As for size I use a 68/4500, I find it still very light and it makes my marker just the perfect length. Plus you can get a good amount of shots from one fill.
All depends on what your setup is and your personal preference.
I think 68/45 is a pretty all purpose way to go though

Only buy a LP tank if you're using an older Angel. Every gun these days that runs on LP has a stock regulator to get it down to LP so it makes no difference if you use a HP or LP tank.

Well, guns like tippmanns and spyders may have a problem with LP so get HP and almost every gun you run it on will work.
Ive used many tanks before, and i love my CP. Geurilla makes a nice tank and crossfire make super reliable tanks. Centerflag makes nice stuff too. Pure energy tanks are rock solid.
If your looking to buy a tank, i have a 68/45 tank for sale for $60 thats in pretty good condition. Bought it 3 years ago and hardly ever used it. Me if your interested*end shamlesss plug*

68/ 4500 crossfire is the way to go.
I don't like pure energy, the tanks are fine, the regs are a different story.

I have been using a ninja tank this year and I cant say enough good things about it, its adjustable for one so you can shoot 450 to 900 (for all you mag fans out there) its shorter and lighter then most other regs and the customer service is the best I have ever seen, through a mistake of my own doing I blew one of the burst disks two days before Red Dawn, I callsed them up and they overnighted me a new reg before I even sent them mine..... Ive never seen another company do anything like that
that would be my recommendation

Crossy is a popular brand because it gives you everything you need with out a lot of flashy stuff. Good at everything best at nothing is a phrase that defines the crossy. Pretty reliable, pretty good re-charge rate, decent value.
Actually for the price, i would recommend a guerrilla tank over the crossfire. I dont know about crossfires customer service but i know guerrilla has always been excellent and have probably more experience in the air industry than any other company still around (they used to be air america for you old school ballers). their tanks are a little smaller and some people swear by the rock solid myth regulators
However, eif you are going to choose between these two you really cant go wrong, i just prefer the guerrilla air myself.

For your Tippmann, you want HIGH PRESSURE. Doesn't matter if you are using a 98 or an A5.

The only time you really need LP (if your marker is LP, obviously) is if you have a marker w/o an on/off, i.e Mini's. This will save a ton of life on your threads.
I'd check out ANS line of tanks. I use their new ANS Extreme Blackout tanks with the adjustable regs and they are probably the best, lightest tank I've used and I've used about everything. Also they have the DXS tanks with Myth regs on sale right now for around $140.
I'd put the ANS tanks and regs against anything out there for weight, re-charge, and overall quality. I switched from DXS tanks to ANS and I was a bit skeptical at first, but the ANS tanks are better in my opinion.
