View Full Version : Tired of leaky slide-checks?

I have the worst luck with slide-checks. I've tried several, and modified them, but I still don't trust them. Sooner or later a little hisssssss from a chewed-up o-ring will come.

These Warmachine Paintball "Warlock" quick disconnects (http://www.warmachinepaintball.com/contents/en-us/d5.html#p15) may be the ticket.

They incorporate the functions of a slide-check and quick disconnect into a single pair of fittings. Pop the button, and your marker vents and disconnects at the same time, leaving your remote pressurized.

They're sorta-copies of the famed (out-of-production, expensive, rare) Staubli "Pro-Connect" QDs.

There's some impressions on the x7og (http://www.x7og.net/air-systems/13854-warlock-pro-connect-remote-hose.html) and a5og (http://www.a5og.net/air-systems/23045-warlock-pro-connect-remote-hose.html).

You can buy the Warlock as a complete remote line, as just the male-female pair ("warlock complete"), or with an extra Constant Air adapter, and just the male end, etc.

I've already got a remote line so I'd probably just buy the "warlock complete" package, and replace the connectors on my line with them.

So who's gonna be the guinea pig and try 'em out? :)

I've been using something similar for a few years... those are the same as a pro-connect. An absolute must if you run a remote...

I think I will try one, but I can't seem to get an order to go thru from work so I'll have to try from home later or call them tomorrow.

I've been using the same slide check remote setup for years. I've never lubed or even cleaned it and I've never had a problem. I wish I could tell you the brand but I forget. It's even got an output pressure gage on it, not that you really need it.

I have 2 pairs of these laying around, I bought them and never used them, I decided to get away from the remote set up.

I just opened up my slide check and slightly countersunk the holes, hit it with some steel wool, and pow. No leaky ever again.

I have had my "Pro-Connect" for 15 years! Way better then a slide-check.

My Warlock items arrived yesterday. I ordered both the full remote line and a spare male end. The only flaw I have found is in the bottle end of the remote. The plunger to open the tank valve doesn't disengage when you attempt to turn off the air to the hose- it doesn't degas the line. I may just swap out the disconnect to my PURE ENERGY line and go from there.
