Hey guys, I need some ideas for a youth paintball camp age 12-18 with a civil war theme. Any feedback would be welcome.
I did a Civil War Jungle Rumble a few years back called "Gettysburg 2063"
It was played with no Hopper on guns, players had to hand feed the paintballs.
The course was a large open area, no trees, and both sides had a General that would give the command to fire. A 3-2-1 Fire. Players could not shoot until the General said FIRE and players could only fire one shot.
After each shot each team would take a step closer to eachother. :)

Super idea! Thanks! The kids are divided into platoons anyway and they have to pick a leader for each platoon and a general over all, so we could make that work well.

We always have a paintball thing a couple times a year with our church youth group, and Civil War is always one the their favorite games we play (and mine).
We play it just like Darin said, except we left hoppers on since it was a small group and everyone would notice if someone fired more than once.

Oklahoma D-Day does something like this too, although they eventually "break formation" and turns into a more or less standard game (less the needing to feed one ball at a time with no hopper).
Always a lot of fun, I wish the youth camp the best.

Man I remember that game... Fun but really really different.... lol
That was our first year that we brought out our LAW and we may or may not have smoked a poor little kid in the head with it.......

My daughter won it for us that year, The conversation that followed it was very laughing:).
I guess you know now you can't go wrong with this game. The kids will love having to fall and lay there til game ends, one stride at a time, last player standing Wins./AKA

I would mention that the generals cannot shoot, but they cannot also be shot out. Their job is to merely give the command to fire. If you allow them to get shot, then no one can give the order to fire in the next rounds. Just making sure that both sides would always know when they're allowed to fire.
And I think there should be a team flag and one person always has to hold the flag up. If the flag holder gets hit, someone else must get it back up, say with in 30 second or your team loses. :D

that's also a neat idea. I would say, however, that the flag bearer should remain behind the line with the general, otherwise that's all the opposing side would aim for just to make sure their flag goes down.
